We went for happy hour the drinks were on point and so was the food. Our bartender was awesome and so was the rest of the staff. We had the HB roll it rocked. We also had dumplings, noodles and orange chicken everything was great. Old fashions and sake!!
Came here since my friend recommended this place. I found the food was overly salted and it took away from the taste of the food. The fried rice was a good amount of food, but it was too salty. We also had the carpaccio and that was overly seasoned. I don’t recommend this place if you are looking for authentic Japanese food. This place is best to just have a drink and maybe a single appetizer.
The view is awesome, overlooking the ocean. The food was not bad. Had the Tuna Jalapeno Roll and Salmon Nigri. The Tuna was interesting, see attached photo, but the Salmon was delicious. Service was reasonably good and food came out at a good pace. Liked it and would go back.
The toro is amazing. I usually go to ayce places, but if you're looking for quality fish, Come here. The sushi box combos come in plastic bento container could be better presented since it is $28-40.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: YesTakeout: YesCurbside pickup: No
Kind of disappointed with our experience at The Backhouse. We waited a bit before we were acknowledged by any of the staff to be seated. Once we were met by an employee, he told us we could come in, as if it was our fault for waiting. The bartender and who were assumed were the manager did their best, but service was sub par. We waited for our last sushi roll +15 min after the rest of our rolls came out and had to remind the waiter we were missing items. Our first set of sushi rolls were dropped off, and when we asked the gentlemen who seated usrudely what rolls they were he said “I don’t know, dropped them on the bar” and walked away….. food was good, and idk if the one waiter was just having a day, but the attitude was not part of what we ordered and would have been totally ok to 86.
Great Sushi and other Japanese food. We had Sushi, fried rice and salmon carpaccio. However, our waiter seemed to be really bored and didn't take the plates from our starters away when we were finished and we already received our main dishes.
Amazing sushi and service with great view. Perfect Sunday spot to relax and watch Football . Manager is on point with recommendations.. the Crazy Roll and the HB Roll off the menu.. ask for it.
Sushi with a VIEW? YES PLEASSSSEE!! What an awesome place to have sushi and overlook PCH! Everything we tried was delicious and fresh! We can't wait to visit again!
The service was exceptional great. Our waiter and the other support staff were very attentive. Also, the food was very delicious.
Great find with a view! Food was fresh and authentic, service was fantastic and helpful, and drinks were potent! Great ocean view with reasonable prices!
