This Scotiabank location has always been problematic as far back as I can remember. The tellers chitchat way too much about nonsense with customers and waste time unnecessarily while other customers are waiting in line. Then you have customers that have an enormous process to take care of with their bank accounts, or otherwise, and they take up one of usually two tellers trying to fix problems that should be “by appointment only” but the bank still chooses to accommodate these customers as opposed to making them an appointment or telling them that they need to make an appointment for these types of things. You have employees from the back offices walking back and forth carrying coffee mugs, chatting with other bank employees and laughing while doing absolutely nothing or pretending to be preoccupied and working. Customers with lengthy problems should be redirected to the employees in the back offices to help them with their lengthy problems or complicated concerns. The employees in the back offices have the same computer system, they have a desk and they chairs. This is where lengthy problems should be addressed and NOT at the teller stations while others are waiting. This bank does everything backwards. Tellers are there for convenience, ie. to pay a few bills, withdraw some money etc. Tellers are not there to gossip with customers wasting time unnecessarily while others are patiently waiting, that is simply inappropriate and unacceptable. Conversations between bank staff and customers should be strictly business, some extra minimal conversation is ok but this location takes the conversations to a level that should be be reserved for coffee shops that serve coffee and have tables to accommodate this accordingly. Scotiabank is not a coffee shop or a Starbucks. Managers do not address any of the aforementioned problems at all, they sit around doing other things and continue to allow the bank to operate on a dysfunctional level. This is completely unacceptable and completely unprofessional. This location needs a complete overhaul and some internal restructuring. They should also consider having a designated teller for customers that are working and need to return to work. Customers that work need to return to work, it’s really that simple. Customers that need to return to work don’t have time to wait while the tellers chat with a retired old lady for 30 minutes about nonsense.
Absolutely terrible place the online banking is enough to make you go on a rampage so infuriating basically impossible to log into your own bank account will be closing my accounts first thing Monday would encourage anyone who banks with them to do the same
So bad experience with them. They all just need to finish up the line they are not listening what we are saying Instead of solving a problem, they just let the customer to go out of the bank. Just focus on finishing the line. Never ever visit this branch.
This location is just awful. 2 tellers, lazy security guard and no one else in sight --- I dropped by to deposit money, huge line up so I used the bank machine, but after 7 attempted of my money spitting back out, and a line for the bank machine also. I gave up! Question is, where is/was the front area representative person? The station is clearly there, and nobody to ask for help! The tellers were so slow I almost offered rounds of coffee!! DO BETTER SCOTIABANK!
Relatively quiet spot to do your banking. The lobby is quite spacious and the teller services were quick and helpful. The bank manager there is really eager to know the satisfaction of my visit when I first opened my account with them. Though no fault to the branch, I find the ATM service to be difficult to work with at times. Depositing cash, most of my cash was rejected despite being bills in good condition.
Very nice staff, that go the extra mile to try and fix your issue. Even being one of the branches with the highest movement, they are still able to present good and fast services.
absolutely horrible service! There's always only 1 person out of the five wickets, and as a result, the wait times are unbelievably long. Rude staff and lazy security. Rough location. I wouldn't be surprised if this branch was closed down, 'cause that's how horrible this place is.
Terrible customer service, sent me to call the call center after the call center told me to come to a branch. Lost two hours of my life I will never get back just for a simple request of a check book. I will keep my daily banking at TD instead.
One of the worst banks in Toronto. Staffs here lacks information and skills. Complete ignorant people and lies.
