The Bar Method is a one-hour targeted body-sculpting workout focused on individual muscle groups with a stretching component. Clients see long-term, sustainable results when attending class at least 3-5x/week.

Description

The Bar Method is a one-hour total body workout that merges isometrics, interval training, dance conditioning, and sports rehabilitation. The result creates long, lean muscles safely and effectively. The mental and physical benefits can be seen long after the 60 minutes of class. We recommend taking class 3-6x/week for the best benefits.
The Bar Method was founded in 2001 by Burr Leonard, who was trained directly under Lotte Berk of the Lotte Berk Method in London. Burr opened her first Lotte Berk Method studio in Darien, Connecticut in 1991. She and husband Carl Diehl then purchased the rights to the technique and incorporated a physical therapy component to the workout with licensed PT's. The Bar Method's flagship studio is in the Marina District of San Francisco and as of 2016, there are close to 100 studios in the U.S and Canada.
The Bar Method prides itself on being the original, most effective, and safest barre-based workout. With each class you will gain strength and flexibility that will last for years to come. The mental benefits of a mind-body connection workout are unending.

The worst experience ever! You have no rights to register some classes you wanted, even though you signed waivers. Be cautious when you purchase! And I felt discriminated from my personal experiences with the studio, they neither respect nor know the clients, but tell you what you can or can’t do!!! Like they know your body better than yourself??? And point back at me that I am not grateful by asking about my own rights???!!!
DECEMBER 2022 UPDATE: As I approach my five-year anniversary at The Bar Method Southlake, I have taken over 1000 classes and I am eternally grateful for the myriad benefits I have reaped both physically and mentally thanks to the amazing instructors and the tried and true method upon which each workout is built. I love how in each class I am inspired and supported by such a fabulous community of members - some of whom I’ve worked out alongside for the past five years and others who have more recently caught on to what I continue to believe is the best safe and sustainable fitness regimen out there. ************** AUGUST 2021 UPDATE: It’s been over 3.5 years since I began my health and fitness journey at The Bar Method Southlake, and I would still recommend it as strongly as ever. Just the fact that this continues to be my primary workout regimen is telling — the Method is not only safe and sustainable for my body over the long term, but it continues to challenge me, both mentally and physically, day in and day out. This past year saw an ownership change and I am happy to say that everything I loved about the studio under Erin and Nicole is still intact, while new owners and long-time instructors Elizabeth and Ashton continue to build and improve upon such a solid, wonderful foundation. The Bar Method Southlake continues to be my happy place!!! *************** FEBRUARY 2020 UPDATE: Two years into my fitness journey with The Bar Method Southlake and I am still a die hard fan. Sure, some things have changed: more class times no excuse not to make it there, a couple new instructors who are AMAZING, and even some new class formats and exercises which are KILLER. However, other things remain consistent: a clean and welcoming studio, an incredible group of dynamic and passionate instructors who will challenge you to push yourself, a friendly community of inspiring and supportive members, and classes thoughtfully crafted with safe yet effective exercises that help transform your body and build mental fortitude. If you haven’t yet tried The Bar Method Southlake, get your soon-to-be-lifted bottom to the studio now. *************** Over the past couple years Bar Method has proven to be the optimal workout for me to strengthen, tone and elongate my muscles — and lift my seat! — without aggravating but rather helping stave off old running injuries. This was also the only workout that I was able to do safely and comfortably through my entire pregnancy even with the necessary modifications, I always got a killer workout and the first one that I was eager to jump right back into afterward. Everything about the Southlake studio is AWESOME!!! Owners Nicole and Erin are so genuine and friendly — as are all the amazing instructors who never fail to make classes challenging yet fun. While you can’t grab a cocktail or beer at this local “bar,” Bar Method Southlake is THE place to go if “you want to go where everybody knows your name.” ;
The Southlake Bar Method is filled with amazing and well trained teachers that spend each class helping with form and technique. Music is always good and classes are never the same. Somehow all the teachers know everyone student by name- every student! I have improved my core, muscle tone, strength, and flexibility. It’s my favorite workout to do!
The Bar Method Southlake has been wonderful for me! I have never really been consistent in my workouts and in recent years, have been pretty lazy. My coworker and I decided to try The Bar Method at lunch one day in August and I’ve been hooked since. The instructors are amazing and the other people in class are as well. I never feel discouraged or judged. Everyone is warm and encouraging. No class is the same - always challenging, never dull. I’m stronger and healthier and I have The Bar Method to thank!
