Bozeman's Premier Corporate & Special Events Venue. The Baxter Hotel, located in the heart of Bozeman's downtown historic district, has been the social hub for dining and nightlife since its opening in 1929.

Description

Built in 1929, The Baxter continues to be a staple to the downtown Bozeman skyline. Having gone through many different transformations, it is now Bozeman's Premier Corporate and Special Events Venue.

The Baxter holds an elegant ballroom for weddings and large events as well as smaller rooms for more intimate gatherings. Fully set up with an LCD projector, screen and conference phone, the Willson Suite is ideal for corporate meetings.

The Baxter is also the home of Ted's Montana Grill, The Bacchus Pub and LaChatelaine Chocolat Co.

Wishing there were more stars to give. Grace and the team took such awesome care of our event. Everyone raved about the food and service. For a somber occasion, Grace made everything seemless from booking, AV resources, and room set up with a needed upbeat caring way. The day of staff were so kind and helpful. Definitely would book again.
We had our wedding rehearsal dinner here and everything was great! The location, the staff and the food were all perfect. They had great communication and were very attentive before and during the dinner. Highly recommend events here.
If you're an architecture or history buff checking out the lobby of the Baxter on Main Street is totally worthwhile. It's also how you enter Ted's Montana Grill and the Bacchus Pub both have outdoor seating as well. The mezzanine floor is apparently currently used as an event space. The Baxter was originally built as a seven-story hotel in 1929 by then most renowned architect in the area, Fred Fielding Willson. The hotel is named after George Baxter, a prominent Gallatin County rancher who provided the funding. You'll see Willson's name all over town - the HS is named after him, he also built the Ellen Theater and the Gallatin jail which is now a fabulous museum.
I frequent this building regularly for Ted’s Montana Grill and the Baucus Pub, wonderful establishments with superb food and service. However, I have noticed that the parking garage has paid parking for their old garage. The garage is hard to get in and out of because of steep ramps and a low ceiling in the basement. The basement Garage is completely iced over and the metal stairs leading below are also iced over. I’d like to say it was a one time thing but the basement has been nothing but a sheet of ice for months. What is the parking fee going towards? No new lines painted, no sand/gravel, icy garage and stairwell? Seems like a money grab. I’d rather park on the street a mile away than go in that poor excuse of a garage.
Absolutely amazing downtown Bozeman venue. My husband and I got married here a couple years ago and it was perfect. The rooms to get ready in were big, bright and clean. The space transitioned smoothly from a beautiful ceremony set-up to a fun and spacious dinner reception with room for lots of dancing! The staff was professional and helpful and the price was wonderful! I was thrilled with this venue and would absolutely recommend it!

Mesmerizing! Historic and elegant. Ted’s Montana Grill is located here. Ted’s has some amazing food and a very solid spirts selection. Most of the hotel has been converted into residential space. The lobby is still a trip back to the days when it was the “Crown Jewel Of Bozeman. It open in 1929 and the lobby still has that wonderful vibe.
We had our wedding rehearsal dinner in the Baxter ballroom in June 2019, and it was just PERFECT! It is such a stylish and elegant venue; the built-in bar is really fun, too. Working with the team at the Baxter was a breeze, and they were incredibly accommodating. I couldn't recommend this venue more highly.
The Baxter Hotel Ballroom was the perfect place for my offices Holiday Party. We opted to decorate the room ourselves but had lots of help from Aimee and the catering staff. From music in the lobby to beautiful decorations as you walked up to the Ballroom, The Baxter really set the tone for a wonderful evening enjoying drinks and dinner with our co-workers. Thank you Aimee and staff for making our Holiday Party one to remember!
The Baxter Ballroom was the PERFECT venue for our event! We are so grateful to the staff at the Baxter for their professionalism, patience and assistance... from our first call to inquire about availability and cost, to the many calls, questions and plan changes that followed, to their support on the actual night of our event! Add to that a facility that is beautiful and fully appointed and you've got all the ingredients for a magical event. We felt the cost was reasonable for what we received - expert and professional assistance, a gorgeous venue, amenities including a staffed bar, coat room, kitchen, tables, chairs and clean up by their staff - we couldn't have asked for more!
