Description

We are a craft beer bar/restaurant/bottleshop located in the Willamette Valley that specializes in providing the finest craft beer selection between Portland and San Francisco.
We have been recognized by the Eugene Weekly, Craftbeer.com, and USA Today as one of the best beer bars in the region. Since 2005 we have grown from a small, 12-tap bar to a beer hall with 30 taps and over 1,000 bottles. We keep our product fresh and cold at all times, and our staff knows what's up with beer.
We use proper glassware and serving sizes so you can enjoy your beer the way it was meant to be. We serve excellent food, including panini sandwiches, traditional German dishes, and local seasonal dishes that change bimonthly.
Come in for a great beer experience! We have room for big groups, and you can rent our back bar for private parties at this link: http://thebierstein.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/event-pricing.pdf

Amazing selection of beers both on tap and the long wall of cansottles Food was awesome but there is absolutely no table service. Want water? Go get it. Missing silverware or something wasn’t right with your plate.. go walk around and find someone. If all you want is low contact and beer/wine.. which we did.. it’s pretty good.
This place is right near my office so I've been stopping by after work pretty regularly for the last few months. Whether I stop by on a Tues or Thursday there's always a relaxed crowd, but it's never TOO busy and more importantly, I love the beer and food. Ordering from their extensive draught menu is easy with their menu setup and the option to sample/taste. I also love their food. One of my favorite salad options in town as far as fresh, hearty, well-portioned ingredients, and I was just totally impressed with the spicy version of their chicken sandwich sliders. Their delicious pub-centric menu never leaves me hungry or comatose because each dish is pretty well-balanced as far as flavors, nutrients and size. Their to-go 6-pack deals and cooler selection also makes for an affordable fun night trying different local and unique brands, and their staff is always helpful, thorough and friendly.
large selection of beers, indoor and outdoor seating, friendly staff, delicious food, what more could you want? i had their reuben with tempeh sub and it was quite delicious, perfectly tangy. the german apple coleslaw side was okay, i'll go with something else next time. will return again someday, i'm sure.
This is an awesome place to get a beer and something to eat. The beer wall is my favorite to browse. Their selection is amazing. Every time I come here I discover a new brand. Last time I found a very tasty cider from Portland. The food here is delicious. Definitely great spot for sports games.
If you're looking for a cold beer, a bite to eat, or bring some beer home from around the world, Beer Stein's got it all! There tap lidt is constantly changing and they have beers on tap that you really can't get anywhere else in Eugene. Outside of their rotation of beer taps, they've got 18 frigerated doors of bottles and cans of beer from around the world. Bartenders are friendly, and food is tasty made with fresh ingredients. Overall nice spot to hang out with friends or dine alone.
Went here twice while visiting Eugene and both times did not disappoint! Their Mac-'n-cheese is AMAZING and in my opinion, the best restaurant mac and cheese I've had in a long time. The pasta is cooked to perfection and mixed with their bier cheese soup and topped with bread crumbs. Their Bavarian soft pretzel appetizer is warm, lovely, and even more delectable when you dip it in the warm bier cheese or any of the mustards they serve you on the side. Last but not least their beer offerings are vast and unique. It can be overwhelming but the bartenders provide great descriptions and offered great suggestions. All the beers I tried I loved! This place is quite the gem in the area and I can't wait to come visit again!
Nurm. I don't drink. Let me put that up front. Friends are in town. We have not seen each other for a very long time. This place was suggested. I was enjoying the company of my friends so I did not care where we went to. So I ordered the Beef Sliders. 17 bucks? Three greasy bun tiny sandwiches. Maybe two ounces of meat total. A from the bag frisee salad. A bit of red onion. Three, maybe four grape type tomatoes. Three slices of Roma tomato. My guess, for the burger. There was some kind of vague, flavorless schmear on the bottom bun, I could not taste what it was. Now: You never use a Roma tomato for any kind of sandwich. You can't tell me its because it fits on the slider. Otherwise you would have used sliced shallots for the burger instead of long strings of red onion. Who is the cook here? The beef was taut, tight and chewy. This is supposed to be a burger. A tiny burger. Delicate and tender and juicy would have been the way. No condiments for the burger 'cept the no flavor mayo, maybe horseradish, I do not know. The stars are for me and my friends. Friendship means more than this ogre of a place with well meaning but obviously cluelessnesses employees.*******************"""""**********""""""""""†******""******""""""""""*******************"""""""*UPDATE Allow me to rescind my pleasantries. This place charges at least 17 bucks for sandwiches. The Club, maybe 2 ounces of ham. Shredded pieces of turkey they saved off the slicer, table, who knows where else. A mere smidgen of mayo in the center of the bread. Somewhere between a half slice and a bare quarter slice of each cheese. A quarter leaf of lettuce, I am being hope ful. Two tiny slice of tiny tomato. Slivers of red onion. Fudge y'all. Folded bacon!?!? Yeah, ZERO stars. Friends of mine wanted to come back. Blip that anymore.
Pretty good! The Jägerschnitzel was hands down the best thing we got. Would have had a picture of it if my dad hadn't immediately started demolishing it. The Gouddhist was pretty good but the little sliders were kinda overdone, still okay tho! The soft pretzel + beer cheese was perfect and the sauerkraut was great. Nice selection of beers, cool atmosphere. Quick service! Definitely a great spot for a beer and a bite.
Looking for a place for a quick bite with good beer selection and ordering from your table. Waiting for a concert to start and found this place. You can order from your table or a register. If you want water you can serve yourself from a station. If you are the DD like I was you will need to go to the cooler and get your soda, it is not available to order from the menu. Ordered a couple sandwiches and they were good. The chili--yum yum yum. Feels like a good local place to drink and eat with friends.
Awesome food. Chill atmosphere. Great beer options. Just a perfect early dinner.
