My husband & I joined two months ago after hearing about the good ratings & it's close to our office. This is what a gym should feel like.  It's not a stinky meat market crowded with people.  It's always clean, spacious, & has the friendliest & attentive staff compared to any other gym I visited including 24 Hours & Bally's.  I also like the fully-stocked locker room & sauna, the separate women's workout room, & lots of extra programs including a holiday weight loss challenge. I highly recommend them to anyone who wants a full facility.

It's a good gym, but also its not, it has some nice facilities like the men's locker room is nice, the racket ball courts are nice, but the weightrooms are not very good. They don't have a lot of equipment which is kind of a bummer. Overall it's not a bad gym, but the worst part is the hours. They don't have very good hours and there always seems to be something going on that takes one of the facilities out of use for people that come in. To be honest, I would recommend spending your money at a different gym, because you can get everything the big c offers and more at other gyms.

This club is definitely worth the price of membership. The pool is 25 meter, rather than the typical 25 yd, so it is a bonus for swimmers. The ease of provided towels, lockers, and soap/lotion, etc. makes working out a more enjoyable experience.

One of the nicest gyms I have been to. Was not busy at all, lots of cardio machines, a separate functional fitness room and more. Felt very modern with new or nice equipment.  Salt water pool was nice, and hot tub in the locker room was nicer. Most of the toiletries you need are provided in the showers and sinks. Soap, shampoo, conditioner, shave cream, aftershave, combs, Q tips, and towels provided!  I got a one day pass for $15 as I was in town for the day. I had to find a spot to park my semi and was able to park overnight on Galaxy Ct in the evening next to the athletic club. During the day though the cul de sac  is blocked off with cones for the youth center which make turning around impossible for a semi.

To me this is a very good facility with very helpful staff, excellent equipment, classes of all kinds, and one of my personal favorites....Racquetball!....The players are all friendly and very competitive.  The bottom line is The Big C Athletic Club is one of the Premier Clubs in California in my humble opinion....It is my second .

Great gym with an older clientele. Not a lot of meatheads here. Tons of amenities including steam room/ sauna, massage room, cafeteria, racquetball courts, small outdoor pool, indoor basketball courts, nearby outdoor soccer field, assurance of clean towels, dozens of free fitness classes, on-site personal trainers, etc.

Usually Big C have amazing service, except the last time i visited them. It was on a Sunday and there was two guys up front, i did not catch their names but the Asian guy refused to put stairs into the swimming pool i am 8 months pregnant unable to climb into the pool safely without stairs he stated the pool is too busy and because of that he is unable to accomodate me. I waited patiently for 30 minutes and several lanes opened up, if there was a stairway installed i would have been able to access the pool. I decided to leave since i was disappointed and uncomfortable. As i was leaving i notice another elderly lady stated she was disabled requesting the same person to put in a stairway for her to get into the pool. He again refused and stated the same reason he gave me. I believe this is an Ada violation, i am very disapponted in the service they provided and i hope this gets corrected. If it happens again i may need to possibly file an Ada complaint.

A smart choice for your health and entertainment. Large and spacious facilities with professional staff. Personal training and multiple classes. Racket ball, hand ball, and basketball competitions. Steam room, Jacuzzi and sauna. Restaurant adjacent to pool. Open on most holidays.

Great athletic club! Have been a member for over 3 years. It is a bit on the expensive side but they have very good facilities. Definitely worth the money if you make good use of what they offer.

No regular classes nightly. Its a few spaced odd times with no motivation to have zumba or other workout DVDs running for anyone to join in between workouts as suggested. No willingness to add classes on a regular nightly schedule. That is why I am no longer a member...$59 bucks a month and they scoff at my suggestions. See Martinez Elite Fitnesse's nightly class schedules...if you could match their schedules then I could be onboard with paying your ridiculous prices
