I am very glad that I decided to make the drive to Rosenberg Texas to visit the Black Cowboy Museum. I passed it driving and had to circle back since I was expecting a stand alone building. I had to use navigation to get to location but once there, noticed there was plenty parking. Being the only person at the museum at the time, I received a personal tour from Mr. Larry Callies. He began to share the stories behind several of the items in the Museum and stories about the cowboys that were unknown to me before my visit. I do not recall how much the entry fee was but considering how valuable the information was, the entry fee was a bargain. The museum in small is size but it packed with artifacts. I left after 2 hours because I had another appointment but not because I ran out of things to see or bc Mr Larry ran out of things to talk about. I plan to visit again and bring others :-
I had such a great time here. I had to go back and I am planning my third trip now. Each time I took someone with me and they too were in love with all the wonderful and interesting things there. Once you visit this museum you will feel as if you been missing this all your life. I love it and I can't wait to return again.
Our family completely enjoyed this experience and learning the history from Mr. Callais. My Mom had an Uncle that used to ride bulls and she wanted to see if he was included. Mr. Callais had a picture of him in action and it just made her day!
If u want to know th real history of the west.. Come here

This is a hidden gem in a small strip center. The founder, Larry Callies, grew up in a family of cowhands, rodeo riders and musicians. His love of family and history is evident in every photo, document and antique. Well worth the drive to Rosenberg.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$6–10

A little Museum dedicated to the history of America's forgotten Cowboys, the black cowboys. Fans of cowboy culture will enjoy this museum. I've been here twice, once with a group of senior citizens and another time with some friends and family from South Africa. Both visits were very informative. The owner gives a 30 -45 minutes presentation while showing varies special collectors items he has in the museum.
It was very interesting learning about the history of and the beginning of the black cowboy . I recommend everyone to learn of our culture when it comes to our past. I didn't know the cowboy legacy or origin. Thankyou to the owner he is great person I have tell my friends about the Black cowboy Museum .
