The Camp Restaurant

About

The Camp is a local gathering place for friends and family to enjoy good comfort food, watch sports, drink beer and share stories.

Description

With the recent changes to beer laws in the state of Mississippi, new wonderful beers are now available to the public. New breweries are opening all across the state and region and each is offering their own special touches and brewing styles to beer. The Camp is excited to share these beers with locals and visitors to the Natchez area. Here you can sip a beer and enjoy good food on our porch overlooking the Mighty Mississippi River, or sit inside and watch sports on one of our many large flat-screen TVs. We even have a courtyard in the back for a little more peace. Whatever you choose, we know you'll have a good time!

Cheers!

When we first arrived it wasn't busy. The hostess seated my husband and I at a tiny table with little table top space. I asked to be moved to a booth. She told me none were available. I informed her there was. It was dirty which meant she had to clean it. She didn't speak another word to me, but she proceeded to clean the table. She wasn't happy about it at all. The music was pretty loud. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. He made suggestions. We ordered the Pulled Pork BBQ Nachos. They were different and very tasty. We enjoyed them. I ordered a grilled cheese and tomato sandwich, my husband a burger and we had a bread pudding for desert. Everything arrived on time, hot and fresh.
Fun, homey atmosphere with great variety on both the food and drinks menus – they even have some unique creative cocktails on tap with the draft beers! The bar area felt like a little hideaway, and the outdoor seating on the porch offers an incredible view of the Mississippi River. Everything was delicious, as well as presented attractively. We all had a good time.
It took over an hour for 4 of us to be seated, there were tables and booths open all around but looked like the problem was they couldn’t clean them in a timely manner and the guy that was host was MIA the entire time not seating people wait timer finally got to 10 min and never changed for an additional 30 min we only got seated when I finally asked someone to seat us. It was so hot inside almost unbearable. BUT honestly the food was great enough it saved this entire experience for my birthday, everything we ordered was delicious and looked great. So bottom line is be prepared to sweat, be prepared to wait a LONG time and deal with young staff but if you survive all this and get to order the food should be worth it just like ours was.
This place is hopping on the weekend. I was here for carryout twice for lunch. During the week it wasn't busy. But there was practically a line out the door Saturday. And I think I know why, the food is great. The Pork Belly tacos alone are amazing. The sauce is so good. And the Pork Belly is cooked well. Granted the second time I had the tacos again and the pork belly was a bit well done / blackened and crispy but still tasty. Could be due to them being super busy. But the first time I had them, perfection. I also tried the yummy haystack onion straws and the bread pudding. The bread pudding is wonderful with the caramel and praline pecans. I would definitely eat here again when I'm in the area. It's right on the Mississippi River and they have a few tables outdoors to take in the beautiful views. There is street parking on one side and a small parking area before the restaurant on the left and another a bit past on the right.
Visiting on a RV rally, staying at Riverview RV. The Camp has an amazing menu of pub food. Tot app could be a meal itself. Good portions. Friendly & attentive service. Small parking lot on site. Worth the trip.Food: 5/5
Fantastic meal, portions are huge! We had smoked wings for appetizer was enough for a meal! The Nachos with pulled pork were great ! The Brisket Sandwich with coleslaw and pickles on it was amazing! Margarita was authentic too! Great service and food makes this a 5 for us!
Immediately above my table was a sticker that read “good vibes only”. They did not disappoint. It was a really great experience. We were greeted promptly, seated and almost got beat to our table by our server. Our cups never ran dry. The tea is to die for. our food was fresh and most importantly exactly how we ordered it. I didn’t get the servers name but he was super awesome and even laughed at my lame jokes. Extra brownie points for that alone : lol My family and I enjoyed our lunch date here and can’t wait to enjoy this hidden gem again someday in the near future. P.s yes the restrooms are clean & you can draw on the chalkboard while you wait for your turn in the restroom. I didn’t get a chance to take a picture of the Philly cheese tots before we demolished them but as you can see from the empty tray… they were good! The Henrietta and camp burgers were all great choices as well. Tastes like my granny walked thru that kitchen. Hats off the the chef.
The food and service were absolutely great!! Highly recommend it. The area has a beautiful view of the Mississippi river, bridge, and Louisiana on the other side. The street has a definite "under the hill" vibe with lots of merriment yet family friendly and tasteful at the same time. The best place locally that I found for gorgeous sunsets. You can even enjoy them from the Camps porch dining area.
Update 2 years later: We come through Natchez every 1-2 years two to three times to resturant on our visit. Visit first week we were here had fried chicken sandwich, cheeseburger, and bread pudding. Just as wonderful as the first. Nice bartender made good beer recommendation. None of it was greasy and bread pudding was delicious. Second week ordered same exact thing, chicken greasy, charged me 65 cents for camp sauce for my burger that came with it the first time I ordered it. Brought our own food outside, had to go back for our to go bread pudding. It was a different t bartender the second week and she was lacking any politeness, almost on the side of being rude. No thank you even though full tip was given and we served ourselves and she had no please or anything in the form of communicating with customer. I am attaching photos of bread pudding so you can see week 1 to week 2. Big difference and not nearly as good. One of the main reasons we stop here. Wow..wow..wow. Best chicken sandwich and onion haystack ever! Great staff. Great prices, great craft beer. Try the Typical Tuesday and Dixie. This was one heck of a great place. Sorry no pics. Are every bite!!!! Thank you for not having us waste our money in a meal. Feels good to walk out full and satisfied price, quality, cleanliness and price were awesome.
Great lunch!! I got the holy guacamole burger with no bun and it was delicious! Update: same order good food, sat outside so we ordered at the bar. Added a vodka soda with lime to my order. Bar tender left a lot to be desired and my drink was very weak. For the size cup she should've offered me a double. Parking: You may have to loop around to wait on a spot
