It was family time again and it was great. The wait is long during the weekend up to 20+. Our bartender was very attentive to our table and our needs. The kitchen made sure all our food came out together. It was a nice environment, family friendly. One of our server didn't want to give us an extra order of corn muffins...not sure why. No one complained about the quality and quantity of their meal. Vegetarian options: Yes, please make sure you are your server before completing your order Kid-friendliness: Was just alright during my visit. Parking: Outside paid parking, and parking garage. Make sure to see the host to validate your parking pass.
The service was on point! We had Carlton as a waiter, and he was attentive and friendly. The drinks were delicious, they tasted like juice but carried a punch. The food was flavored well, and I feel like I had the right amount. The only thing I would change is appetizer portions. They were good, but they aren't really sharable. The manager, William, came to check on us, and it added a nice touch to the experience.
This is our go to place whenever we want some good soul food. Like the consistency in portions and taste. We have tried pretty much everything on the menu over the years. Service has always been good. Long wait to be seated- yes, never fails but its worth it. Parking is very convenient. There are street parking & nearby garage parking.
This was my first visit to Carolina Kitchen. Our server, Will, was so patient and attentive. The food was out of this world!! I had the three piece fried chicken meal with collards and sweet potatoes. I chose 3 wings. You can choose any 3 pieces. The wings were jumbo wings. They were crispy and well seasoned. I wanted to eat all three but couldn't. The greens and yams were also good and well complimented the chicken. The star of the meal was the cornbread muffins they give you. Just thinking about them...mmm! They were crispy on the edges and light and fluffy inside. The topping tasted like lemon honey butter. It was sheer perfection! They have a cafeteria style line for takeout. There is table service for dining in. This restaurant is one of my new top restaurants in the DC area. Parking: There is street parking but the majority of the parking is available in the garage.
Came here for dinner on Sunday- first I would like to point out how I appreciate the business for being open and serving the public during this pandemic. Thank you. Next I want to point out my experience with the Bar Tender Val, I remembered her name because my mom shares the same name. Val was more than amazing I watched her engage with other patrons and what I noticed was nothing other but stellar service. Now to the food. “kiss the chef” the food was pretty good, hot, fresh and most importantly the portions great! Thank you again!
This restaurant seemed well ran, my waiter Wayne did a good job of explaining the menu and helping me identify something dairy free. This was one of the best Kale salads I’ve eaten, and my entree was delicious. The black beans were cooked perfectly as they didn’t have the usual strong taste of the bean that runs people away, the cabbage was cooked to precision, and the catfish paired well with the crab and shrimp grilled in oil instead of butter.
Wonderful experience, food was so good, it would make you wanna smack your Momma. Cornbread, Collards & Mac'n Cheese, O.M.G.. Entrée were off the chain, Bang Bang Shrimp, Smothered Pork Chops, Stuffed Salmon, and Fried Catfish. Lots of other options just couldn't get to them all. Parking was a bit of a hassle, was a bit of wait due to staffing shortages, spent about $40 per person, and they had no soda, welcome to a post pandemic Washington DC. Saying all that to say to say I will being eating at this spot anytime I get a chance. The Wonderful young lady who was the bartender & was our waitress was phenomenal, and made the dinner just that much more enjoyable.
I was visiting the area and decided to drop by for their famous cornbread . I was very pleased. The atmosphere is very nice in the bar area. It was a nice break from the chill outdoors. Everything was clean from the entrance and the bathroom. The servers/bar tenders were great at what they did. Excellent customer service and friendly.
So a coworker and I came around lunch time for a bite to eat and to catch up on some work . Our food was good , service was okay 63 music and decor was great . The only downside was that the bar was not open and there wasn’t enough outlets available to plug a lap top in and work . Funny thing is there’s a huge sign on the door that says “work from here “ but that’s hard to do when the outlets weren’t available .
I would have given 5 stars but the bar is closed until August and they only had 1 waitress. The wait was 30 mins as a result. The food was really good as I had the creole Salmon with Mac and cheese and yams. I thought the Mac and Cheese could have used a lil more salt. The homemade lemonade was great and the cornbread muffins were to die for! Parking: Parking in the lot is validated
