UPDATED: BEWARE THIS VET THEY WILL BLEED YOU DRY AND YOUR CAT WILL BE TRAUMATIZED!!!! I’ve used this vet the entire time I’ve lived in New Orleans. I’ve recommended this vet to family, friends and coworkers a-like even though my cat always acted really weird for a few days after a visit. Still, I’ve had the same issue come up MULTIPLE times where they double charge me $50 deposits or never confirm my appointment. Last month I scheduled an appointment with Dr Dodson over the phone for my cat’s vaccine update and we set the time for 10am, the appointment time was changed to 9:30 and I wasn’t given any update or confirmation. This is odd because I always verbally request that I be sent some form of confirmation in text so I can set a reminder. they called me at 9:53 to tell me I had missed the appointment I was on my way to and refused to use my deposit for this appointment even if I came in an hour later at the time I had marked from the scheduling call. I just spoke to someone in their office named Ginger who quickly made it very clear that this company doesn’t care about me or my cat, they are a business. After reading a couple of reviews mentioning her, I’m not very surprised. She hung up on me after telling me how I was simply wrong and didn’t need/ wasn’t owed any confirmation or bill of sale. I would absolutely continue to use this vet if these issues didn’t exist. I would give 0 stars for customer service if I could . After seeing their reply to my comment when I was the one harassed, manipulated into paying for unnecessary services and essentially robbed of a deposit, I would like to point out how businesses typically operate in these situations. It’s really refreshing that they chose an attempt to invalidate my complaint as me simply being rude.
Dr. Cousins and the rest of the staff were fantastic! All of my concerns with my poor sick kitty were taken seriously, investigated thoroughly, and addressed promptly with plenty of background information provided on treatment plans. Miss Evie and I are grateful for y'all!
I absolutely love the cat practice! All of the staff is kind, welcoming, and extremely knowledgeable. I love that the staff takes the time to get to know me as well as my cats. Dr. Cousins and Dr. Dodson are amazing vets. They take the time to explain to me what is going on with my kitties and what I can do at home to help my fur babies. I have a 13 year old cat who has started to experience some health issues in the past couple of years. Dr. Cousins and Dr. Dodson have stayed on top of his health and answered any questions I have regarding his health. From cat acne, to cat allergies, and high blood pressure, the cat practice has walked me through all of it. My cats are my life and I would not trust anyone else with their care.
I adopted my cat from the Cat Practice eighteen years ago--that's how long my history with Dr. Cousins and his staff goes back. During that time I have never met a more caring, concerned, or knowledgeable veterinarian. He is a brilliant diagnostician and has guided me in keeping my cat as healthy as an eighteen year old cat can possibly be. I am particularly grateful to him for his coordinating the best medical care she could possibly get when she needed surgery a couple of years ago. I would honestly trust the Cat Practice with my own infant's medical care.
I had to change vets and was totally pleased with The Cat Practice. Within a few days my girl was back to normal. I appreciated their concern and that when they recommended a specialized diet they did not try to make me beholden to only obtaining it from them.
One of the best vet practices I've taken my little friend to since we left Denver. This cat-only institution has an excellent track record with him and he's thrived under there occasional care. Wholeheartedly recommend.
When I lived in New Orleans they were my fur babies vet, babygirl and I loved going to them, caring, loving, gentle, whole staff, great place to take your cat, he/she will be well taken care of, I highly recommend it Lynn Elliott n. Babygirl
So very glad I decided to take my cats here. The staff is incredibly kind, patient and understanding. You can tell that folks are passionate about what they do! Very happy to have found a vet office as amazing as this one.
Dr. Cousins and the entire team are professional, helpful, compassionate and timely. I have always been able to see them in a reasonable amount of time in fact I made the switch to TCP because I couldn't get into my regular vet for days when I noticed a pressing issue. Even though I was a new client, I was able to get an appointment for the next day after I explained what was going on. I made the switch after that first experience. All the staff greet me and my cat when I arrive and seem to know him. I appreciate the explanations that I receive from Dr. Cousins and staff as well. I feel like I walk away with more information, and answers to my questions. I see a lot of people note the pricing in their reviews-- you get what you pay for. Vet care is expensive no matter what. However, I have always felt in terms of care options, the financial component was part of the discussion and not a bomb dropped on me after care was treated and you have no choice. I completely trust this entire practice. Plus as a cat only facility, it is SO MUCH LESS STRESSFUL when we arrive and leave no dogs barking, or running up to his kennel to sniff, etc. And the facility looks more like a cat spa when you come in, not a doctor's office. Don't hesitate to visit. Wonderful professionals and humans all the way around.
