Definitely a dive bar for college kids. Overall best prices for drinks I've seen on a day to day basis. I prefer this place over Brothers because you can actually hear your friends talk over the music! It's small and dingy, but it's home.
I always have fun at The Chug, they are responsible about their establishment and always check ID. My friend had a lot of fun the first time I brought him with me.
Had a great time with my friends here recently! Phil was a great bartender and was super nice and helpful! We liked their blue jungle juice type drink and the gummy bear shot edible thing was interesting! Definitely worth the $3! I liked getting a Vegas bomb for only $5.50, too. Wanna come back on a Wednesday because they’ve got much more deals on that night!
Dive bar, so leave the attitude at the door. Love this place, everyone is on the same level here, no class divide. A true college bar experience, a little grungy but it is supposed to be. Always had a good time here, some memories that will last a lifetime. Go there and have a good time, forget about trying to be cool and just be yourself. Staff was always tolerant of the drunks and helpful. A place to meet laid back, down to earth crowd. This bar is the backbone of the village, the icon of bars around Ball State. If you don't need gimmicks, are not upitty and just want to enjoy yourself, go here and get wasted. Loved this place, used to be my weekend home away from home.
Honestly it's probably because I am a Muncie local so I might be slightly biased. But the atmosphere is unmatched. They have some of the best drink specials and the bartenders make sure to pour a little heavy. Certain nights of the week they have free pool on 5 different tables. They have 1 dollar pitchers on Wednesdays, Karaoke on Thursdays, and Trivia on Tuesday nights all accompanied by a live DJ.
It's the chug -- cheapest prices you'll find in Muncie, and genuinely a better ambiance than other bars like Brother's. Nice dive for a night out with friends, fun karaoke nights. On days that are consistently not busy, it's relatively relaxed and not crowded as well making a budget hang-out spot. Make sure to keep your eyes open on Tuesday nights for 75¢ beers.
Horrible service. The bartender legitimately tried to start a fight with me because the bouncers picked up 2 of my untouched ice cold beers due to me setting them down for no more than 2 minutes while I was playing pool. I asked him honestly TOO politely to please reimburse me for just one of the beers and he threw a fit about it, but did it anyway. Then on my way out I thanked him again for doing so and he decided to make several snarky remarks. I've never had such bad service at such a small, hole-in-the-wall bar, and I absolutely do not recommend going unless you want to grip your drink the whole time in fear of it being taken from you.
It is what it is. It’s a college bar that serves out of plastic cups. Friendly staff and good specials.
Best local bar in the village, it feels like everyone in town comes here, and the wells are cheap as can be. Crowd can be college-centric, but the vibe is always lively, and the music always loud. A great place to go and be drunk.
FIVE FREAKIN' STARS, PEOPLE. I spent a huge portion of my college days at the Chug, falling on the floor at the Chug, and laughing in the bathroom with strangers... in the Chug. I danced on tables, met some of my best friends to date, and overall had a great experience here EVERY SINGLE TIME. If you think this place is dirty or smells weird, go to Brother's! This place isn't for the faint of heart and neither is the riot punch they're serving for super cheap, I might add. It's a dive bar and it's meant to be crusty and dusty. Keeps the weak ones out, lol. But in reality, I have long since given up my drinking and just wanted to come to say how much joy this place brought me. Laughed, cried, and spent much of my time here. Please go! I hope you love it's charm as much as I did.
