A CUNY college, CCNY comprises the Division of Humanities and the Arts, Division of Science, Colin Powell School for Civic and Global Leadership, Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education, School of Education, Bernard and Anne Spitzer School of Architecture, Grove School of Engineering, and the downtown Division of Interdisciplinary Studies at the Center for Worker Education. Collectively, CCNY’s schools and divisions offer 73 undergraduate majors and 47 masters programs, of which 10 are interdisciplinary. In addition, CCNY grants PhDs in psychology; biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering; and in biology, biochemistry, chemistry and physics, jointly with the CUNY Graduate Center.
City College is home to 20 research institutes in the sciences, engineering and social sciences. They are engaged in ongoing investigations in such areas as nanoscience, photonics, alternative energy, water resources, transportation and public policy.
