I have been to The Common Table before but this was the first time I was there for the Hip Hop Brunch and it did not disappoint! I frequent The Star and would hear the music for the brunch and thought it sounded like an amazing vibe so when a girlfriend and I were looking for places to have our weekly brunch this was the first place I thought of. Fortunately, she and I plan our brunches in advance so I got online and had no problem getting a reservation. I really wanted to be outside, but due to the Texas summer heat I couldn't risk it and decided to opt for a table inside. I arrived about 5 minutes early and was seated right away. Fortunately, we were sat in the far back away from the DJ because, let me tell you, the place is very cozy and the music was pretty loud so you could hear it inside and out. You definitely felt like you were at the club - everyone in the restaurant was laughing, dancing and having an amazing time. Even one of the waiters got in on the fun and started dancing by one of the tables. All of it created such a fun and entertaining experience. There were only two of us so we didn't order one of the towers, but there was one at almost every table that had a group. I've never been to a brunch spot with more drink than food options and there were some really unique drinks and tons of fun variety - I guarantee there's something for everyone. I had the tropical mimosa light and tasty and my friend had both a white and red Skittles sangria with the red being stronger than the white but she enjoyed them both! She and I decided to split the chicken biscuit and even though it cost an extra $1.50 it was 100% the right decision. Splitting the meal gave each of us our own egg and it was the perfect portion of food. And I can't forget our server, Jada, who was super sweet and attentive even though this place was SUPER crowded. I cannot wait to have a chance to go back with a group so I can enjoy one of those mimosa towers.
Nice staff. Not too crowded. Drinks and dinner had good flavors. Had the salmon, fish scampi, pretzels, and dirty martini. Looks like a great place to hag out with friends while catching a game.Food: 5/5
I wanted to give this place 5 stars because I've been 3 times now hoping it would get better but unfortunately it didn't. The Food was just ok not makes it stand out at all, the problem I had was it took a waitstaff at least 15 to come and get our drink order, we all ordered Mimosa's and it was basically an expensive tablespoon of orange juice with a full flute of water and a drip of the cheapest champagne. They make you feel so uncomfortable when trying to eat we were constantly being asked about taking our plates up that clearly had food on it. We took out of town guest and they complained which made us feel bad for them because it was their 1st time here. We will never make this mistake again.
Food: The portions were small for the price and a bit over seasoned. It's a plate, not a bowl. Service: Excellent service provided by Mr. Arnold...thank you again! Atmosphere: Great musicFood: 3/5
My family and I came to celebrate me and my dads birthday, it was a great pick. We made a reservation, I arrived and was seated immediately. If you come later at night, you may have to drive around to find parking. I think this is the best redfish I’ve ever had, everyone enjoyed their food. My dad and I get a drink to celebrate and they were SO GOOD! The waitress was nice and polite as she gave us time to figure out what we wanted to eat. She messed up on our order because she miss heard what we wanted because it was super loud but she let us keep the dish and didn’t charge it to our tab. Overall nice vibe and aesthetic.
Austin G. was an amazing host. By all means order the Crown for a King cocktail. The grits are seasoned well, and the brunch was good. The chicken and waffles is good, however, the chicken could have used a little more seasoning.
-First time visit -Reservations were made in advance, but we still had to wait about 15 minutes for an inside table. -Didn't realize it was during hip-hop brunch, but the music was great. -The crowd was loud and busy. -The service was slow but not terrible. -The food was good. - I would visit again but not during hip-hop brunch hours. That was a bit overwhelming.
It my daughter's birthday and we decided to check out The Common Table restaurant. We decided to reserve a table at 5pm, although it was a Thursday. They were not busy at this time. Our server, Jada, was amazing . The food was excellent. We ordered the Loaded Devil Eggs as an appetizer. We had the Cajun Redfish Scampi and the Grilled Beef Tenderloin Salad and the Naked Wings to go. It was a great experience. We will be back.
Listen Hip Hop Brunch at Common Table is always a vibe! The DJ is killing it with the music, setting the tone for exactly what you'd expect Hip Hop brunch to be. The food has been great every time is been. The service at the bar could have been better last weekend. We were constantly being ignored and all we were trying to do was spend money. Lol It won't stop me from going there but I find that table service seems to be better than the bar!
The Common Table is a great place for a boozy Saturday brunch. They have fun drink selections - like the Breakfast Shot which comes with a slice of bacon. You can also order mimosa towers, which come in 2 sizes. For food I ordered the Fried Chicken Smothered Biscuit Sandwich and it was fantastic. It comes with jalapeno jelly and a side of gravy and it was full of flavor. Definitely need a reservation for this time frame because they are usually packed when the weather is nice. They also have a DJ, so if you're not into loud atmospheres, then this brunch isn't for you.
