Went there for lunch and a bit of everything. Wow. Really everything was awesome. Even our picky eater liked it. $400 for 6 with wine and liquor. Three of us did the food flight. Here are some specific thoughts. The salt air, I call it sea foam in the margarita was really awesome. Octopus was ridiculously tender and tasty. Lamb dishes were tasty. Scallops were awesome. Cauliflower may have been “too” seasoned. Desserts were unique. Picky eaters didn’t like them. Everything was awesome fresh.
Phenomenal. Best word to describe the food and service we received. Great corner spot with outdoor seating. Dishes were excellent from start to finish. Chefs experience is a must if its the 1st time to sample a variety of plates. Waitress was great, explained every plate and made suggestions.
Fantastic experience. Food was great. I am not sure what Robert Broom was talking about. Probably a fake review. The waiters clearly explain the concept of the restaurant when they come to your table. It’s small plates. We were served promptly, and the waiter was very knowledgeable about all the food. Robert, if you want large plates of crappy food, go to Haywire.
Awesome place very neat and clean. Order almost one of everything on menu in one sitting with my friend and me just 2 people see my pics for proof. From fine wine from Lebanon to the food all delicious and flavorful. Will recommend all to try everything. Especially any lamb item. Making sure you pair it with a nice bottle of wine.
Two restaurants for one dinner. I was visiting my hometown,Dallas, and was excited to try Zaytinya since the raving opinions from the DC location. I wanted to take my parents here for their anniversary celebration dinner. I made a reservation at 8pm and we got there early by 7:30...7:51 rolls around and our table still was just being cleaned. We finally get seated by 7:55. Then the real wait begins...pita bread wasn’t served until 8:30 pm. People seated after us got their bread before us. Out of the 4 dishes we ordered, we only got 3 of them....the 4th was forgotten. Nonetheless the food was excellent however the service for this caliber of a restaurant was definitely not up to par. The manager realized we were not having a good experience and apologized as well as zeroed our check however I was disappointed at the experience given how I was looking forward to it and hoping to give my parents a great anniversary experience. I give it 2 stars....one for the food and one for the ambience. Oh, and the chairs were not comfortable so if you’re going to try, ask specifically for the booth. And order a lot of wine so you don’t mind the wait and even if they forget a dish or two, so will you! And for those wondering, we ended up going to Mi Cocina right across to finish the night and it was great.
Great experience tonight. Perfect night for the patio and the restaurant works to keep the ambiance of the Mediterranean the inside smells of fresh grilled fish. Started with the tartare, interesting take with mint and lemon. Good though. Then to the ground lamb kabob. Well rounded and good portions. The brussel sprouts CAN'T be passed on. Lemon whipped yougurt, perfect. Pork belly with a slaw and jalapeno relish. Done to perfection. I've said enough. We finished with Turkish coffees and had beers. 75 dollars... amazing for the price. Come here!
Wonderful location and perfect service. One of the few places I can actually find Turkish coffee, was a tad too sweetened for my taste but all around done correctly. The Wagyu tartare starter was perfect. Some of the best tartare I’ve had. The octopus dish from the seafood section was cooked to perfection which can prove to be difficult for a lot of places. The Brussels sprouts deserve their own paragraph. If you go for nothing else go for the Brussels sprouts. The cranberries were perfectly ripe and the yogurt sauce was just tart enough to accentuate the crispy crispy crispy Brussels sprouts. Got food to go for the wife which traveled decently well and was packaged nicely.
Dismal service leading to a disappointing experience. Now this is not the norm for Zaytinya, which has a popular and outstanding branch in DC, and currently has only 5 star ratings on google review. We chose zaytinya to celebrate an occasion with our family. We had a reservation for tonight, and after some waiting, had to settle for conventional seating. I would recommend the booth over their uncomfortable chairs. The pita which is served upfront with fresh olive oil never arrived until 20 minutes after we were seated. The hummus tasted of fresh chickpeas, garlic and tahini and was good. The crispy Brussels Afelia was excellent- mild tart from the garlic yoghurt was offset by berries. The falafel- nothing to write about. Have had much better falafel; serving size is rather small and you may want to order 2 portions. We also ordered the Bantijan Bil Laban- which never arrived. The waiter told us that two servings of ‘fresh pita’ was on its way when we got seated. And after 20 minutes of waiting for those, and a missed order, we had enough. The manager was apologetic and waived the tab. But with so many dining options in DFW, including several in the same complex, unlikely we’d return anytime soon.
5 star food and 2 or 3 star service. The food was amazing, everything we had was really excellent. The service was less than stellar, especially at that price point. The hostess was pretty snooty, and had an air and attitude that we were lucky just to be able to spend our money there. Wait servers was a little better but slow. Just getting our bill was a 20 minute process. The bar staff was nice. Not sure we will be back.
Very nice authentic Mediterranean restaurant. The Pita Bread was so light and fluffy, you can tell they had just come out and still warm. The family Kabob sampler was fantastic, cooked over a open wood flame. Very good service, main course was on the table within 15 min of ordering. I would definitely make this a once a month place for a change from the normal dinners in the Frisco area. The Star is a great atmosphere to walk after dinner.
