I was supper excited to try Black Bear Bistro because of all the reviews and word of mouth. I was nothing but disappointed. We waited a bit for menus then ordered an appetizer of crab and spinach dip. Took forever to get our appetizer and when we did, there wasn’t enough bread to eat all the dip. The worst part is our meals arrived right after so we didn’t get to eat much anyway. All the food lacked any seasoning so it all tasted bland. The bread was stale and the fries were soggy with no salt or seasoning. The lettuce on the sandwiches had brown spots throughout and the chicken salad had gristle in it. There was four of us and we got our check, $100 for lunch, which included a 10% tax. What??? This is the most expensive lunch for something that was beyond disappointing. We will not be visiting this restaurant again.
Best oysters and risotto balls ever Please if you are near here try this place. It's amazing. And excellent prices and service. Top notch server couldn't have been any better.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: YesTakeout: Yes
Nice bar with indoor and outdoor seating. Wood fired oven pizza. Fried oysters and the po boy are must tries
I really wanted to have a great time here but it wasn't in the cards. We were welcomed by a nice cashier but she could not answer any questions we had about alcoholic drinks. Then after paying for our meal before eating, a waitress came over and asked what we had even ordered. Not to mention i paid over $30 for 1 drink and 1 appetizer. I tried looking at the receipt but odd enough it didn't show what I was even charged for. After sitting for probably 10-15 minutes the waitress finally came over and asked if we were enjoying our meal. But we had been done the whole time. Needless to say this place is lack luster and there are way better places in Warrenton that have spectacular service and regularly priced food. My apologies for anyone who eats and gives them business.
Small but amazing , staff was friendly and the patio is nice to enjoy the evening. Food was amazing.Food: 5/5
We have been to Black Bear several times over the last few years. Our experience today was quite disappointing. We ordered 2 pizzas for carryout. When we arrived to pick them up, we were informed that one of the pizzas had been made incorrectly. Although they did immediately say they would re-make it, we sat in the restaurant for an additional 15 minutes waiting while our other pizza was getting cold. We finally asked to have them set that one in the warmer while we waited. No one offered to compensate our loss of time in any way. Additionally, when the pizzas arrived, it was evident that our one pizza had never been placed in the warmer because the box was not warm/hot. The pizzas lacked flavor, sauce and were burnt. For $44 for 2 pizzas we expected way more. We will be looking elsewhere for pizza options.
I had the "Pizze Da Vinci," and it was amazing! It's definitely one of my favorite pizzas I've tried. Our server was extremely attentive and helpful as well. The atmosphere here feels very cozy - it reminds me of a lodge or a cabin, and I love it!Food: 5/5
Place is busy all the time, food is great. They have good pizza and calzones great sizes also.Food: 4/5
Knots and pizza well done. Waitress disappeared never checked on us. She did not deliver food. Went to refill soda and did not bring it back til we asked for it. Waited 20 minutes for mousse and cheesecake .Food: 2/5
Our party was seated pretty quickly. Staff was unaware of customer service. Had to ask for silverware and then 2 more staff brought silverware. Very unorganized. Chicken salad sandwich had so much white onion, should have been labeled onion sandwich with chicken morsels. Had to find our waitperson to reorder drinks and to get our check. No follow up on our experience/food. Food delivered separately. We were told “ food should be out soon, we have a lot of customers upstairs.” So if you are seated downstairs you are lower class. Just like the lower levels of the titanic. Hard to see how this place could have high ratings. Very poor organization and low expectations of customer service from the owners.
