This is a great library! They have a large selection of all the genres, the kids sections are especially great. They have many little hideey holes for kids to read books or quietly play. Computers for detailed searches are all over. They have a basement that can be used for small group meetings.
We attended Pajama Storytime with our 2 year old kid. There were kid around 1 year old to 6 year old. She engaged really well. We had lots of fun. I like the way She was giving eye to eye to all the kids. So interactive. Coming to this library since 6 months, I the collection and stay is so friendly. Thank you to Whitmore Library staff
Perfect little county library. Full of wonder and information. The librarians are sweet and helpful. Very patient. Unfortunately they didn’t have the book I was looking for. But I love the Salt Lake library system with transfers and holds. And j love the access to the online library. That is super fabulous as well. Even in an old Building they have up to date decorations and fun ways to engage young minds
Whitmore library in Cottonwood Heights is one of the best libraries in the entire city. They have a huge selection of books videos and music CDs. The librarians here are super helpful and always willing to assist with whatever search or questions you have. I’ve been coming here for many years and now my kids come here.
Great manager she was super nice. Too bad she was moving to a new location.
I am sitting at the computer stations in Whitmore Library as I write this email. I have been here for about an hour. I have been able to watch two amazing librarians helping two different patrons, patiently, for at least 20 minutes each. The patrons are "older and wiser" and are struggling with some technology questions. One is being helped on Libby, and another is helping the patron move and print some photos. I am so impressed with their patience, kindness, and senses of humor that is helping to keep the patrons engaged and learning how to use technology to their advantage. One is named Rebecca and the other has longer brown hair with bangs and glasses. Give these librarians an extra thank you while they are helping our seniors. I am only a few years away from receiving a "Senior Discount" myself; maybe that is why i noticed!
What happened to libraries being a quiet place where people respected each other? During my visit the library was full of moms with whining crying kids. It felt more like a day care center than a library. These moms don't think the rules apply to them and should be told to leave.
My kids love this library
Whitmore Library has many great events/classes and a variety of books. The kids play areas are fun and spread out well, it prevents too much cluster and chaos. They have a fun story time for toddlers on Thursday mornings at 10 in the basement auditorium. I appreciate the layout and use of space as a whole. They decorate the library with fun and engaging themes for kids. The library could use some love and a renovation sometime, I hope it happens soon.
Very helpful staff, lovely arrangement that keeps my zone separate from the kids zone - which itself is really cool - and so helpful and solid on the holds. I appreciate this place!
