The Union City Library is a branch of Alameda County Library.
The Union City Library is located in the Civic Center complex across the street from James Logan High School. The Library serves the 74,000 residents of Union City as well as the nearby communities of Fremont, Hayward, and Newark. Partnership with the City allows the Library to stay open 7 days a week and Union City Library has some of the largest circulation of Library materials in the County system.
The Library offers a collection of over 100,000 items including a growing DVD and CD book collection. Special features of the collection includes movies, books, and music in Chinese, Farsi, Gujarati, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, Punjabi, Spanish, Tagalog, and Vietnamese.
A meeting room is available for use by community groups free of charge. The Library has an active Friends group and welcomes volunteers.
