The Danish Pastry House is a company founded on a deep respect and love for the centuries old tradition of hand crafting authentic wienerbrød (Vienna Bread), known throughout the world as Danish pastry.

As a Dane, growing up in a Danish household, my love for authentic Danish pastry began at a very early age. I still remember the times I clung to a box of wienerbrød as my plane left Denmark to come back to Canada. I knew I might not be experiencing it for a while so it made my departure bittersweet. Naturally, one of my favourite family baking traditions was learning to roll and fold danish dough by hand - not without frustration at times! Always a challange to get it "just right" and so satisfying when I did.

It is a great privilege to share our love of Danish pastry with all our wonderful friends and customers. Since the day our doors first opened, we have never sold a "day old" pastry and we promise to honour that tradition always!

This creates a deliciously light, flaky pastry with a rich mouth feel and flavour that has made the Danish Pastry an international specialty. We use premium ingredients and no preservatives for all of our pastries, breads and cakes. Even our smooth, bold coffee is authentically Danish.
