I visited The Donut Friar in Gatlinburg, TN, and I have mixed feelings about the experience. The shop had some interesting neat cups and coffee mugs on display for sale. However, the seating situation was quite limited, with only one table available and no room inside. Unfortunately, my visit took a disappointing turn when I was asked somewhat rudely to move my four coffees to a spot near the register. This made the coffee preparation process feel rushed and left me a bit aggravated. As for the treats, the donut itself was decent, but overall, it lacked flavor and excitement. The icing and sprinkles on the donut were surprisingly bland, leaving much to be desired. The coffee, while not terrible, didn't stand out either. It's unfortunate to see a place that has been around for a while go downhill in terms of both service and taste. Based on my experience, I'm not inclined to return.
Long line while standing in the rain BUT extremely worth it! The donuts were so delicious that they melted in your mouth! The sweet buttery warm aroma of goodness greets you at the entry door. Plenty selection and reasonably priced. Very friendly staff! The man that made my Snickers latte joked around with my husband about adding on a 6th donut to make hubby happy. This place is a must on your trip! Looks like "just another donut place" but once you take that first bite... you will be a customer every visit to Gatlinburg.
CASH ONLY!! ATM is on-site inside. Good place for some donuts. The donuts are delicious and warm. They have a large amount of cake donuts and large cinnamon rolls. Definitely recommend stopping in, just know what you’re getting.
This place is excellent for the donuts!!! Not cheap, but they are really good!!! Glazed cake donuts have been a mainstay for my family when we are here on vacation since I was a little kid. Check them out!
This shop is located inside The Village which very neat to walk thru and has neat little shops. The gentleman that waited on me at 5am was very friendly and helpful. The donuts I picked were raspberry cream cheese , chocolate cake and apple filled donut they were very delicious and very affordable. The shop is so neat alot of coffee cups to see everywhere

Very tasty, fresh, and welcoming. Will return every visit to Gatlinburg! A must stop when in the cute Village area right off the main road.
Best cinnamon bread I've ever eaten. And very kind staff. On the second day as my daughter sat down someone stole the second loaf of bread we got n I went to pay for another one and they gave me one for free. The donuts n coffee were amazing too.
April 2023 - came here with my 3 daughters under 11. They loved the donuts and they sold them for a good price. Ours were very good and we tried 4 different kinds. Worth visiting if you are in the area. Great place!
Great donuts, fast service. My only issue is that this is a cash inly business, granted they have an ATM on-site and will give you a free small beverage if you have to use the ATM.
