Owned and operated by a native argentine. The Empanada Joint is artisanal cuisine with every empanada crafted and folded by hand. We pride ourselves in using only the freshest ingredients. We source our grass fed beef, pork and produce from local ranchers and farmers.
Call in orders welcome and encouraged for larger groups. Gluten Free orders require a call in advance so they can be ready when you get here! Casual dining in a flash!

Definitely worth a visit. We were only in town for a couple days and we noticed this charming restaurant, with gluten free options. My husband spent some time in Argentina, and the flavors brought him right back there. I ordered the gluten free beet and goat cheese empanada and the sweet potato fries. Just such a great flavor combination! This is comfort food. The staff was also great. If we lived in Missoula, I’m sure we would make this place a regular stop.
The empanada joint is definitely a special place in Missoula. Very delicious empanadas, plus the folks that work there seem to have a great attitude and are committed to keeping a good and clean restaurant. It's not too pricey and if you don't like the price tag, just know that what you pay for here is certainly worth it. Latin- and south- american fare is hard to come by in Missoula, but these folks nail it. I tried 4 different flavors of empanada, and they all were delicious. The empanadas are baked, not fried, so you don't feel like you consumed a bunch of oil after eating them. Also tried the sweet potato fries, which were cooked to perfection. They also have gluten free and vegan options. I would argue that the empanada joint is one of the best places to eat in Missoula. I will definitely come back for more.

Nice, clean, colorful place. Good food, takeout available. Counter staff were helpful and friendly. Empanadas we're ready to eat, they were fresh. One of my party ordered a ham and cheese, waited about 10 minutes for fresh to come out of the oven, perfect timing, it came to the table just as there soup was finished. They could use an bell on front door to tell if a customer walked in. We watched a customer leave after waiting a few minutes for them to come out of the back food prep area.
My girlfriend and I decided to go in and grab a bite for a spur of the moment lunch because we didn't have anything to pack for lunch. The empanadas were amazing! the chicken and pork are definitely the way to go, I also highly encourage the chimichurri sauce and the white. The white sauce compliments the chicken empanada very well, and the chimichurri sauce was just good on everything. They also had a red spicy one that I'll get next time I go, they also have empanadas that you can take home and bake which is really awesome if you just want to have a small gathering of friends. I believe the owner is the lady that helped us and she seemed like a real genuine person and someone you should do business with, she defiantly has the opportunity to become a downtown staple.
This place is wonderful - the owners are so friendly and accommodating. Two empanadas might not feel like enough food, but if you eat a little slow you will get full! Beet and goat cheese is my personal favorite. Don't skip out on the yummy dessert options!
Fantastic food, the meat empanadas have great flavor and everything is so filling! The staff and owners are kind, courteous, and offer a pleasant atmosphere. The new chorizo empanada is great anytime of day and the white sauce goes great with the sweet potato fries!
Love the empanadas here. Need 2 to make a meal, which gives you a reason to try more than one. I got the chicken from a recommendation from the woman behind the counter and a pork sausage empanada -- both were full of flavor and spicier than I expected. Pastry crust was perfectly done -- I'm more familiar with the Chilean version, but these were at least as good!
Wow just wow! Best food in missoula. Their restaurant was super clean and the customers service was absolutely amazing. They brought our food to us within minutes of ordering and noticed we forgot to grab knives and got them for us without us even asking. The chicken empanada is sooo delicious. 5 star everything! Ive never written a review but this really deserves it.
Had a great experience with friendly, relaxed staff. Gave great recommendations and the Empanada's themselves were extremely well seasoned and delicious. Will revisit another time to see how their frozen takeout Empanada's hold up.
