We love the Eyrie! 6/5 stars! : We have three little kiddos in the beginners class, and they have learned so much! They learn about listening, paying attention, being kind to their training partners and of course having FUN!! The BJJ classes at the Eyrie have helped prepare them for kinder, as those same skills are needed at school, too! It is such a welcoming and positive environment to be in. As a parent, I am able to watch and appreciate how much time and attention goes into coaching each student. We have been with Lead Instructor, Phillip Aguilar since Day 1! I remember attending the opening ceremony, and now the kids are old enough to join, woo-hoo!! It's truly a great place to be! Go Team!
My daughter has been training here for over 4 years, and I started in January of this year. It’s been absolutely fantastic! The Professor, coaching staff and fellow students are amazing. They are so skilled in both the art of BJJ and the gift of teaching it.
The Eyrie is an amazing place, when your there you feel like family. Professor Phillip is a great person and coach. The school if family friendly and encourages everyone to do there best and welcomes everyone with open arms. You won't find a better place to lean, grown, and better yourself in Tucson.
When my family and I spent a few months in Tucson over the winter, we wanted to find a gym to keep training. The Eyrie turned out to be the highlight of our whole winter. Phil and his coaches treated us like family while dramatically improving our jiu jitsu! The coaching is world-class, but the culture among the coaches, students, and families takes this gym to a different level altogether. Thank you Phil, Juan, Dave, Jesus, Miguel, and all our new Eyrie friends!
Such a money hungry company. When you cancel the monthly membership be ready for a few extra months of charges sprinkled when you least expect it. And then they act like they have never refunded anything. Beyond disappointed in this place and how they run. Oh and don't send your kids here because they will get injured and then they will say oh it just happens. No you guys have no control over the kids when they're on your property.
Amazing gym. Phil is about building self confidence and discipline. The best gym for kids and they have the receipts to prove it. You earn everything here by your marit and drive its not like other gyms that give you promotions because of time in you have to earn it. I can trust Phil and his team with my kids and know they are gonna be better not just at jiujitsu, but better more well adjusted people in everyday life.
The Eyrie is more then just another Jiu-Jitsu gym, we have a fun family atmosphere that makes you feel at home. The last 2 years have been some of the most amazing in my life and this gym is there biggest part of that. Coach Phillip isn't just a teacher, he's a life changer. His classes are well taught and explained. Phillip never has a problem showing you the technique again even if it's the 30th time, he pays attention to the details of your movements to help you improve your art and he strives to help you commit the techniques to muscle memory. I highly recommend this gym to anyone looking for a Jiu-Jitsu home
I was in Tucson for a couple of nights and always like to train at out of town places. Eyrie worked out for my schedule, and for that I am very glad. Great academy, great instructor Phil and awesome, welcoming students of all skill levels. It is also a We Defy school. If you are looking to start the Jiu Jitsu journey, or are visiting the area, I recommend The Eyrie BJJ. My job will have me travelling to Tucson fairly regularly, so I will definitely visit again.
After my daughter lost her three grandparents in 2020 she was lost and without direction. She started to fall into bad habits and was not herself. To say that this gym was her saving grace is a MASSIVE understatement! Because of what the owner Phillip and his coaches as done for my kid, she has become a better version of herself. She is consumed with the art of Jiu-Jitsu to the point that at 9 years old her goal is to own her own gym when she grows up. I cannot recommend what is being created at The Eyrie enough!!!
I found this gym while visiting Tucson. What an amazing experience! The owner/head instructor Phillip Aguilar is knowledgeable, friendly, approachable and very good at Jiu-Jitsu! The students and instructors are awesome. The gym felt like one big family, always positive, focused and encouraging, especially with the kids. The training space is modern and clean with plenty of parking. If I lived in Tucson this would be the gym I train at. I look forward to training here again next time I’m in Tucson.
