I’ve been a part of FFS for three years now. Jackie, the owner, has created an amazing community dedicated to fitness that makes you feel your best inside and out. Her kettlebell training classes are unique and challenging, amongst the many other things she offers. Her pivot during the pandemic has made it really easy to workout from home and she still gives you 100% virtually. Love the classes, the events we do as a team like snowshoeing or hiking on weekends! and the people! Can’t imagine there’s another gym like this in Ottawa.
Wow, this studio was SO MUCH FUN. Jackie is the most welcoming to out of town visitors, and makes sure you can sync in with the exercise program. I love doing group fitness on the road when traveling for business, and this was a fantastic experience. Super easy walk from any of the city centre hotels after your calls, you can shower up after class, and then grab dinner in Byward Market where all the best energy restaurants and bars are located, then easy walk back to hotel and crash. I have been with Jackie's studio for two years now and it has absolutely changed my fitness journey and my relationship with my body. Kettlebells has not been a "miracle" pill I don't have a six pack, but Jackie's classes and encouragement has lead to the most consistent relationship with a fitness routine in my entire life and built up my strength, agility and cardio. Part of it is the program: after two years I know what to expect but Jackie still finds movements or mini-challeneges to throw in that are unexpected or challenging. Another part of it is Jackie herself and those that co-teach some of the other classes. They encourage you and check-in, and there's a real sense of community with other people taking the classes - whether you're doing it in-person or online. I recommend Fitness Fusion to anyone thinking about trying to make a change to their fitness routine and lifestyle.
Jackie is an excellent trainer who really cares about the clients and will watch your form like a hawk ! : She is very knowledgeable about exercise and her programs are structured and well thought through. I continue to gain so much strength and can see the improvements across all the other sports I do.
As an avid gym goer I was first dismissive of the Fitness Fusion Studio, believing it to only provide niche services to ladies who lunch, but it is the best gym I have ever gone to. Although somewhat nondescript from the outside, once inside the FFS provides a safe and welcoming environment for all those who visit. The owner, Jackie, is an all-star trainer, business woman, and a truly wonderful person. Even if you are beginner who has never swung a kettle bell, under the tutelage of Jackie it's only a matter of time until you'll feel like a pro. Unlike many classes I have been to elsewhere, you know the ones where you feel lost at the beginning and only realize how to do it once it's over, Jackie takes the time to explain each move, shows the proper technique, and offers personal modifications as necessary so no one gets left behind. In addition to Jackie being awesome there are so many amazing people that go to the FFS. It is a wonderful community where all members feel welcome and look out for each other. There are no looky-loos or judgmental people, just a great group of individuals pushing themselves towards their fitness goals. No matter where you are along the fitness path, the FFS will help you realize your full potential. You should definitely stop by.
I’ve been coming to the Fitness Fusion Studio since the summer of 2014. Though I've been studying at a university in a different city, I always make it a priority to attend a couple JACS classes as soon as I come home for the holidays. And when I come to back Ottawa for the summers, I always try to pack in as many as possible. Jackie's kettle bell training program is so well structured and results-oriented that you'll go from having all your muscles aching after class #1, to pushing aside all your other engagements just so that you can come to the three classes per week by the end of the session. Wanting to make more time for health this summer, I decided to also try out the HIIT, Boot Camp, Pilates, and Build a Better Butt classes. Not only did I thoroughly appreciate those four classes on individual basis, but they were also a great add-on for working the stabilizer muscles needed in my favorite class: JACS. Jackie is forward when it is essential for you to change your technique and hands-off when she sees that you'll notice your mistake on your own without risk of injury. Kettle bell training requires technique and she ensures that everyone’s safety is prioritized. Her leadership qualities and her genuine care for what is going on people's lives is what makes her an exceptional trainer and friend! Not to mention that the regulars are equally as kind, whether it's 8:30am on Saturday or 8:30pm on Thursday. Another way in which Jackie helps is through the dieting tips she gives to go along with the program, depending on if you're looking to lose weight or gain muscle. A few years ago, she was instrumental in helping me lose 25 lbs. in three months. Overall, the Fitness Fusion Studio is a welcoming community of people looking to support each other in achieving personal goals. Jackie is an expert trainer and approachable person who makes going for a workout the highlights of your week.
I got started with Kettlebells here a while back. Jackie really knows her stuff, keeps you entertained and engaged, and mixes it up enough that there's always something new. It's too bad it's so out of the way for me now or I'd still be going! Highly recommended if you're interested in checking out Kettlebells or just looking to get into shape.
I´ve tried a few gyms in Ottawa but this studio suits me the best. FF is a friendly small community where people know your name and motivate each other. Don´t expect the workout to be easy, but it´s fun and very effective so you see progress pretty fast. I love outdoor bootcamps and I also enjoy the kettlebell class, pilates and HIIT!
