I am absolutely in love with this place. Went here with my family for my mother’s birthday and everything was absolutely exquisite. The desserts were unreal! I wish I snapped a photo of it but was too caught up on how delicious it was! Definitely the best meal I’ve ever had so far in my 25 years of living. The menu was . The flavors presented were just simply unmatched. Truly a spectacular experience.
Greeted with a warm welcome & smiles. Extremely friendly staff, great food, top shelf spirit options & a wine-champagne list a mile long. Each dish coming out was exciting to see what flavors awaited as well as the overall presentation. This was my 2nd visit & I will be back soon. Congrats on maintaining the Michelin 3 stars! And thank you for letting us come dressed comfortably. you have no idea how important that is to me. Vegetarian options: When making a reservation you have the choice between the Chef's Menu or the Vegetarian Menu both full of lovely crafted courses. Parking: Located on same street as restaurant there is plenty of parking on both sides of street.
I don't know how I lucked out to get a reservation online, but I'm not complaining! Bucket list item, checked off for sure! The service was like something I've never seen. Silent, quick, seemless. The food was indescribable. Every dish had unique flavours, textures and were made with love. Some dishes I felt could have been adjusted slightly to change the flavour profile, but I feel that is just my palette being picky considering the price and rarity of eating here. Everything was delicious and don't get me wrong, but some dishes felt like they leaned too heavily on a certain flavour. They being said, I was blown away. My partner cried at the end of the meal while going through the kitchen, it was almost spiritual. Thank you to everybody who made this night so special! It will be cherished forever.
Best fine dine experience! Most caring and sensitive top service that I did felt at home, but dining with exquisite artistic cuisine! We brought service dog and we were placed at most private garden area, where all of us felt extra comfortable and amazed with the garden and atmospheric settings. 125 pages of wine list! You would definitely find the wine that match food! From farm to table, freshest top ingredients and local produce with Chef Thomas’ culinary art experience, final kitchen tour, took us to heaven! It’s totally worth it! Best fine dine experience ever
I already had high expectations for The French Laundry before dining and it exceeded every one of them. It was truly one of the most unique culinary experiences. The pre-fixed menu that was put together was outstanding. From the famous Oysters and Pearls all the way to the assortment of desserts, every dish was flawless! The staff members were courteous and well informed about every item on the menu as well. Getting a chance to speak to Chef Keller had been the biggest highlight of the entire evening. Hoping to make it back again soon!
This is a difficult review, mostly because 5 stars does not really provide the appropriate rating. I'm not a "foodie", but this experience will probably end up on my Mt. Rushmore of events. The experience was just amazing. The staff was so attentive but not pretentious in anyway. Most of all the flavors of each dish were oh so memorable. If you do get a chance to go, make it happen. You'll remember the day as time passes...
A wonderful experience from start to finish. The staff were warm and friendly. The food was absolutely delicious. The wines were great and plentiful. The music was surprisingly eclectic and fun. We couldn't have asked for anything else.
Truly deserving of 5 . The staff is young, convivial and knowledgeable. The tasting menu comes at a nice pace and every dish was a tour de force of the best sourced ingredients in our country and the chefs cooking chops. Housed in a causally romantic space with beautiful outdoor spaces, we sat under an ancient Chinaberry which couldn’t have been nicer. Yes, you’re going to break the bank but it’s well worth the splurge.
Honestly, save your money and pick another 3-star Michelin restaurant like Single Thread in the same area. This place is just so overrated, and I've had way better dishes at restaurants with no Michelin stars than this place. After I posted about disappointment on Instagram stories, many, many of my followers many of them huge foodies echoed my sentiment. I honestly don't understand why this place still has a high rating on Google/Yelp. So why the harsh review? Well, some of the dishes from the night were good but not memorable or innovative, and some others were downright bad. For the price point and reputation, I'd have expected way more. It was definitely a fine dining institution no doubt - good service, great ambiance, and fabulous sommelier. There were a few appetizer dishes at the beginning that were pretty decent too, but the rest of the night went downhill from there. The truffle congee was quite bland. You taste the truffle but that's about it. The side salad was overly salty and just not good. The main course - pork loin - was a huge disappointment and was simply not well cooked, and the flavors were just off. Throughout the night, there was nothing that screams "wow this is a Michelin 3-star restaurant!!!" except for the salmon dish. There were a ton of fancy ingredients - caviar, truffle, oysters, etc. - but unfortunately they didn't blend in or elevate the meal. The signature dish, Oysters and Pearls, tasted just like... caviar, and nothing else. It feels like they were merely piling those ingredients on without thinking through WHY these dishes need them. The whole meal felt to me like a woman dressed in mismatched designer labels but without a sense of style. If you are considering trying out this place, I urge you to read the reviews carefully, and pay attention to whether the 5-star reviews were for the service, ambiance and presentation of the food - which The French Laundry is certainly good at - or the flavor of the food. Because I guarantee you can get much better food elsewhere.
Great restaurant. Best three michelin star restaurant I’ve had. Nothing crazy or sophisticated, but the food is really solid. Also I wouldn’t say it’s french because there was no bread.
