We love The Goddard School Chesapeake! My daughter has been going for four months and it has been such a positive experience for her. The lesson plans are well thought out and integrate learning, fun, social interaction and responsibility. The teachers are kind and compassionate yet enforce appropriate boundaries and redirection for a classroom setting that is lively, educational and fun yet under control. My daughter has really blossomed since starting. She has become more independent and interactive with children and really enjoys the activities and songs she learns. My husband and I feel comfortable knowing she’s in a safe and nurturing environment. The school was wonderful in the early weeks, when the transition into childcare can be hard on the whole family, allowing us to call whenever needed to check in. The owners and staff are always kind and greet you with a happy face and there are always fun activities and events to participate in. We are so glad we chose The Goddard School Chesapeake!
My daughter has been going to The Goddard School since she was 8 weeks old. She just graduated from their Kindergarten class. It has been a wonderful six years. She is making the transition into public school and was recently assessed on her reading skills. She is reading at a level well above her peer group. I honestly feel this is a direct result of the learning environment at The Goddard School. They have set her up for success as she grows both academically and socially. I am consistently impressed by the commitment of the teachers and staff as they work with me to ensure my daughter is prepared for life's challenges.
We just recently moved to Chesapeake, VA. I was searching for an all-day Kindergarten option for my daughter, when I came across the Goddard School. My first impression of the Goddard School: Katie runs a highly organized, professional, clean, and very well managed school. The teachers and staff are incredible. They have made my daughter and my family feel welcome from the very start. Miss Ashley and Miss Jackie show incredible patience, care, and concern for my daughter, her comfort and her learning. In the first month of school, my daughter is already writing her name on her own. This is a huge accomplishment for my child! I am so grateful for the Goddard School, and the teachers and staff. I secretly wish they would do K through 8th grade!
After being home with my daughter for 15 months it was important for my husband and myself to find a child care center that would nurture my daughter and teach her things that I would not be able to do. The weekly themes and activities are well thought out and I truly believe her time at Goddard will assist in her developmental growth vs staying home full time with me. All the teachers I have met are wonderful and my daughter smiles big at all of them. I look forward to my daughter remaining at this school though kindergarten.
My school is the Goddard School in Chesapeake, VA. After visiting multiple schooling options in the area there was no way we would have sent out child somewhere else. The facility is meticulous and everyone on the staff is very friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and welcoming. Our child has been going here since she was one and she will be turning 3 in January. We have another baby due in October and she will also be attending Goddard as well. The teachers create a structured environment that makes learning fun and exciting. As a parent, it is nice to know teachers will listen to concerns and make sure they are addressed. It is clear that at Goddard, it is more focused on development and education. The staff truly is an extension of our family and our daughter loves all her teachers.
I am so thankful for the teachers and staff and Goddard School. They provide a well rounded program and they truly care about the kids which shows. My son absolutely lights up when he sees his teacher Miss Rayna and he talks about her at home quite frequently.
My son has attended The Goddard School for 6 years. I have referred several families because everyone there goes above and beyond. They are happy and love the children and its obvious. I have never felt like anyone there treated the children like it was just a job. They all know each member of the family and always communicate - Communication is crucial and you don't realize this until later when you no longer attend... I can not imagine taking my child anywhere else!!!
Not all Goddard Schools are the same. After several months of negative reports and phone calls from Goddard about our 2yr old son, a director informed my wife that The Goddard School may not be the right place for him. The director then recommended we look into getting him a nanny. We know our son, and also know there’s nothing wrong with him. We pulled him out the next day. We then enrolled our son in The Goddard School Virginia Beach, McComas Way location. He literally started the following Monday. After a month, our son is doing great at his new school. The owners, directors and teachers have had nothing but great things to say about him and there have been zero negative reports or phone calls. My wife and I have been fans of The Goddard School for many years, as our first son also attended the McComas Way location. He was there from infant through kindergarten and also came back for several summer camps. We wish things had worked out at the Chesapeake location. We’re also frustrated things did not. So how is it Goddard Chesapeake couldn’t figure out how to deal with our active 2 yr old and the very next week Goddard Virginia Beach McComas Way excelled at the very same task?
The best care my daughters have ever received at an kind of daycare. You receive daily reports so you know what your child was doing. Unlike a typical daycare where your left wondering what happened all day. They are very quick to tell you any concerns or any incidents that my have happened during the day i.e. any scrapes or bumps. It is a learning environment not just a daycare. At The Goddard School the children are learning through play and they are having a blast and making friends!
