The Golden Rule Building: A Century Old Saint Paul Landmark
Originally established in 1886 then moved to it's current location as a 3 story building in 1891 under architect Clarence H. Johnston; The Golden Rule Building combines the historic charm of a century old building with 21st century infrastructure. In 1961 the building merged with Donaldson's to become Donaldson's Golden Rule department store. It was renovated into an office building in 1983.
Currently the Golden Rule Building stand six stories tall and has one level below ground. The building is 300,000 square feet and conveniently has three skyway connections which connect to the 401 Building, Securian Building and a 900 stall parking ramp. It is currently home to office tenants specializing in the financial services industry as well as State of Minnesota departments.
