We weren't even planning on going here but there was a girl outside with a sign about breakfast. We were running an errand and hadn't even thought of breakfast yet. Everyone inside was extremely friendly and attentive. It had a small town vibe. I could see this being a good regular neighborhood spot. My Denver omelette was good. My friend ordered an omelette as well with reindeer sausage. I didn't know what to expect with the sausage but it was really good. The portions are huge,
It used to be a good place for breakfast. My go to dish was the corned beef hash and eggs. Today I ordered this, the potatoes were burned, they were soaked in oil, the portion size shrunk considerably too. I also ordered country gravy on the side and you can taste the raw flour and it was oddly sweet. It was a serious dissapointment. All in all the food has really gone downhill. There are too many good choices in the area and I won't be returning. I'm so sorry for this review. But what happened to you guys? New cook? So sad. You used to be one of my favorite places.
My husband and I just tried The Groves for the first time last week since my waxing salon just moved in next door they are also fantastic! and I saw it during one of my appointments. My husband got the Philly sandwich and I got a bacon cheeseburger and everything we ate was fantastic! He got the sweet potato fries and I had buyer's remorse even though my regular fries were also good. The environment is nice and welcoming and we loved every second. In fact, we loved it so much we went back a second time within a week! This time I tried the pulled pork sandwich and it was HEAVEN!!! It was one of the best pulled pork sandwiches I've ever had. We also tried a Scookie for dessert and it was also delicious, but VERY big, might be better to split with 3 or more people no way we could finish it just the 2 of us. I cannot recommend this place enough and we will definitely be back again.
Everyone else seemed to be enjoying the atmosphere and the staff, however the food was terrible. To start off the coffee was bitter and burnt and there was no real creamer, just those nasty coffee mate cups, which were left out in the sun yumm....warm creamer?. When the food eventually arrived it left me with no appetite. My poached egg was soaking in a cup full of water, the country potatoes were completely soft and mushy like a cubed baked potato, and the gravy on my biscuits was separating from too much grease. I order a scrambled egg to replace my drowning one and instead I received a sad single egg omelet. Additionally the amount of oil on my plate could have scramble a few more eggs properly. My wife's scrambled eggs were also swimming in oil and soggy. Overall I liked the staff, location, atmosphere, and the outdoor seating but we will likely not return.
I can't believe this place doesn't get more hype. Service was great, we sat on the back patio, early on a fall morning, it was very comfortable. I ordered eggs benedict my favorite breakfast food. This was the best hollandaise sauce I've ever ordered in a restaurant. The food was awesome. I will definitely return for breakfast, if I can ever wake up early enough again.
Great place to drop out and hang out. I played in their semi-annual golf tournament and had a lot of fun actually shot well. I stopped by the next day for breakfast -their Denali special - and their world-class Bloody Mary. Great way to recover from all that sun and exercise. Waiters and waitresses work well together. They have 3 TVs for watching sports inside but adding one for their big patio would be great too.
I have been to The Groves a few times now and have to say this place is quite the hidden jewel of Gilbert. Their biscuits and gravy are literally the best I have ever had. The biscuits are home made delicious and fluffy like a cloud. The coffee is perfect. I asked the owner about it and he said that it is custom blended for them by a local coffee roaster. Today I had the Prime Dip, ohh my god it was to die for. They roast their own prime rib and it is soooo flavorful. Staff was friendly and very attentive. This is 5 stars in my book.
Guess what? The Groves Bar and Grill opened a bakery next door! My husband just brought me breakfast in bed. The cinnamon sticky bun was soft, sweet and perfectly spiced and the ham and cheese turnover was a flaky, buttery masterpiece! Let's help this bakery get its place on the map!
New owners. This place was decent. Had good food and fair prices with friendly if sort of slow service. Went there a couple of weeks ago, and found out there were new owners, cook, and menu. Our server was great, but a server cant make up for bad and overpriced food. Seriously disappointing. Not even worth another chance.
we came in sunday morning and had a really bad expierence the food took over 45 minutes then my girlfriend recieved her food and i still had to wait for mine.. bartender didnt have a clue.. looked like hes never been behind a bar before watching him struggle with a simple margarita!! food was discusting no flavor and looked like it came out of a microwave!! weve been to this location alot in the past and always recieved good customer service and outstanding food..what happend to this place!
