When I first went in there were two Associates talking to one customer and I patiently waited for them to finish their conversation. When they didn't I walked away to leave. An associate approached me named Chris and he was excellent. Provided customer service and advice above and beyond. He Saved a sale for the store!
Didn't have item in stock. It was a special order. They had 4 similar items but not what they had on their website. I am not sure how you can pick out something and compare looks if there isn't even a sample in the store. They use to have displays of this item before. We went to Menards and they have quite a few displays and in stock. Disappointed.
Good selection of building materials. Regular Home Depot. Doesn't have as much as some but a good selection. Never really that crowded which is a plus
Kathi in gardening provided the best customer service experience we’ve ever had. Our first home & new garden, and Kathi walked us through everything we needed to get up and going and provided tons of tips along the way. She definitely deserves a shoutout and we really appreciated all of her help! Thank you, Kathi!
Great location and only one in the area. Has what you need and usually easy to find. Limited equipment rental available no excavating vehicles at this location. There are better places for graded lumber, but it's a big box lumber store, and framing grade is the only wood you should buy there, anyway. The staff like all Home Depot's is lacking. Not always very knowledgeable in there own department, except for plumbing department. Have always had good advice from the plumbing staff. Be wary, like all Home Depot's, some staff are very rude and will act very annoyed when asked for help, such as a product location. If they even know where the product is. Some won't even show you, but only vaguely point in the direction of the store aisle. TLDR: Standard Home Depot. Great Product availability, good for framing lumber only, staff is always hit -or-miss.
Rob in hardware is THE BEST! I am constantly taking on new projects I know nothing about and he always walks up to me to ask how he can help! He is always kind, without judgement and extremely knowledgeable! My latest project was an old bench to restore for my besties grandmother. I told him I was sure we could just replace it for less money, but we wanted to learn how to restore it and make it last! Rob took the time to review my measurements and steer me toward the best products for my vision. He even asked me to bring a picture back once it was done! And I totally did! It’s like down-home service in a big-box store.
This places struggles with online orders. Waited for 20 mins after checking in online. Ended up calling because I hadn't heard from them. Was told they were pulling it right now and it would be out shortly. After 10-15mins more someone came out to tell me they pulled the wrong items and I'd need to wait even longer. Ended up coming back later when I didn't have my kids. This time I went inside to get my stuff and let them know what happened. No apologies or attempts to make things right, just "here is your stuff". Not even an offer to help me load it. Between this and the alterations of the military discount program, I'll be taking my business elsewhere from now on.
1 register open Bought painted trim that was so blemished I had to paint it myself Low on plumbing stock told me I had to go to Burton or Lake Orion . Workers block of isles in the morning to restock, can't get to anything while they are taking personal calls. This is easily the worst home depot I have ever been in.
A shout out to Jim and Rob in plumbing at Lapeer Home Depot! Their knowledge and patience helping me find the parts needed to install my new kitchen faucet and under-sink water softening unit were greatly appreciated. It took three trips to get everything correct with no leaks due to my lack of sharing correct information; I am truly a novice with plumbing!! They even instructed me in the proper direction to apply plumber’s tape. A heartfelt thank you to Jim’s wife who patiently waited for him in the parking lot while he stayed after quitting time to make sure I had the correct parts. I would not have had a successful install without you both. THANK YOU!
The store manager saw me today and called me by my name which is very nice. He helped me out with information about the something that we have been looking for some time. It’s nice to have a store that care about and helping out there customers. That’s why Lapeer Home Depot is our best store. Keep up the good work.
