I have taken my unsocialized dog to a couple of other places before finding Hounds Tooth. They did a so so job and she was very stressed out when I picked her up. She loves this groomer and she is happy and looks great when I pick her up. The people are friendly and will work with you on problems or special requests. I won't take Bella anywhere else now.
Great experience! We took our himalayan cat here for the first time, to be groomed and bathed. This was his second time ever getting groomed professionally and he is a pretty nervous cat in general. Himalayans have longer fur and our guy is a bigger boy, making it more difficult for him to properly groom himself in some areas. He definitely had some areas that needed extra attention/sanitation and that’s exactly what he got. Our first experience a different groomer was a completely different experience. The shave was horrible and we are not sure he was even bathed. When we got him home we could tell how scared he was, hiding and running away from us. This time, with this groomer, he looked great! The cut was perfect, and he smells amazing! Lol. Our entire house smells like him very clean. He was totally normal when we let him out of the carrier and he was not scared of anything. Boots will definitely be back in the future!
My dog and I love them! I've tried to go to other places that are closer to our house, but we keep going back. Great communication, my dog isn't stressed there, and they always do an excellent job on her. Totally worth the drive for us.
My baby had never been to a groomer before and I was worried about her having a bad experience or reacting badly to the new tools that mommy doesn’t have at home. I chose houndstooth because of the good reviews. And I’m glad I did! She loved the groomers and adored the attention. They were very patient with her being her first time. The staff it’s self I had contact with in person and over the phone were very nice and I could tell they were passionate about there job. My German shepherd looks beautiful. They even gave her a little scarf to wear on the way home. I will definitely be a returning customer in the future.
I left drop off uneasy about the experience as I was not comfortable with the person who was running the front desk when I arrived to drop off my dog. He did not seem super professional and in my opinion should not be the face of the business or the greeter. He asked the same information that I had already provided the day before to the person on the phone, which was off to me. This was only the 2nd time I have had my dog groomed so I am not familiar with how I wanted the dog groomed. The employee was a bit "short" with me after I wasn't able to provide a clear answer about how I wanted the dog groomed. I asked for guidance/examples of how he could be cut so I could understand the options and it was a very smart response back to me. That was just not a pleasant experience for someone new to the business. When I picked him up over 4 hours later, there was about an inch long wound on my dog's inner thigh and I was met with the response that it was matted.. I am not sure how that would lead to him bleeding. Then they said it was because he was licking himself on the thigh. He does not do this at all. On top of that, I was charged an extra $20 for him being matted... bringing my bill to $106 for a 15lb dog.
I took my cat, Singe, here for the first time today. I was in and out in under an hour! This was Singe's first time being groomed and I was worried how she would act, but the staff here are so friendly and handled her very well. I'm beyond happy and satisfied with my experience here, I will be returning!
Houndstooth was an amazing experience that provided me with an abundance of valuable information about my dogs Healthcare, it was beyond my expectations. I appreciate it so much, Thank you
They did a great job on my golden retriever. My only complaint would be the price. I'm aware it's not a fast job, but it's the most I've paid to have him groomed. Even compared to groomers he's been to in California and Washington. However, I'm happy with the detail of their work, and I will return with my golden to be groomed again. They pay attention to detail and make efforts to achieve the look the pet owner desires. Very nice job. Thank you for making my hairy son look so nice.
Very friendly and good to my dog. Called hoping to get an appointment because everywhere else was booked and they actually got us in a few days later because of a cancelation. Went for a Furminator, after the last place canceled due to groomer being sick, was told the package was $65 and would have 2 groomers for 30 mins each plus includes the bath and ears and will cut her nails. I took her in and a few hours later when they called and my husband picked her up but they charged $90+ and it was never clear about why or what the extra charges were. I would have liked to be informed if anything additional was needed to be able to make the decision or at least know I would be paying more than I was told. They did put a cute Valentine's bow on her but the Furminator didn't seem to work very well. I don't know if it is because she sheds so much and never had one or if it is just not that effective. All in all a good experience and my dog seemed to like it there. I just would have liked to been informed of charges and wish it would have helped her shedding!
Took my dog here for the first time for a normal nail trim. He has anxiety but is extremely sweet and well behaved which i told the groomers of prior. Even though his nails are clear making the quick clearly visible, he was cut so badly he was bleeding everywhere. The groomer repeatedly told me this was normal and he was fine even though he was crying out. There was no apology or offer to waive cost of the nail cut, I paid full price for my dog to leave with even more anxiety around having his nails cut. I understand accidents happen especially when a dog is nervous and pulling back, but I have taken my other rescue dog with black nails to other groomers where he has been just as nervous and pulled back just as much and never been cut. My dogs are my babies, and I take them to professional groomers because they are supposed to be able to work well around these kinds of scenarios. There’s tons of groomers around the area and I highly recommend taking your babies elsewhere.
