Lauren L. Freeman has been a native of Calhoun County her entire life. She graduated at the top of her class from Piedmont High School in 2006 and earned her Bachelor's degree, magna cum laude, in Political Science and English in 2008 from Jacksonville State University. While at JSU she completed two internships: one with Congressman Mike Roger's office and the other with McGlaughn & McGlaughn, LLC in Gadsden, Alabama. She began law school at the Birmingham School of Law in the Spring of 2010. While completing her J.D. degree, she worked for Homeland Security at Ft. McClellan and also as a law clerk at Burke, Harvey, & Frankowski, LLC in Birmingham, Alabama.
Lauren graduated law school in December 2012, and was admitted to the Alabama State Bar Association on April 26, 2013.
She began practicing law in Anniston at Lawton & Associates in May 2013. In June 2014, she opened her firm and has since been practicing law in Calhoun, Cleburne, Etowah, Lee, St. Clair, and Jefferson counties. Her practice focuses primarily in criminal defense. She also handles appeals, family law, and estate planning.
Lauren is also a member of the Calhoun/Cleburne Bar Association, the Young Lawyers Association, and on the board of directors for 2nd Chance, Inc.
