A beautiful property and they have a crew which keeps the grounds looking great. Our room was spacious, well maintained, and clean. I'd rank it from B+ to A-. The recreation area offers a wide range of amenities which appeal to guests from young to old; for couples as well as guests. Breakfast Buffet is very good, rating from a B+ to A-. Given that, the Dinner menu is a disappointment, with far too few selections. Quality if food served at dinner ranged from a C+ to a B+.Souvenir shop has very nice stuff which costs less than one would expect.
Another great weekend stay with family. we rented 3 cottages on the lake, dinner at the lodge Friday evening, a bit on the expensive size for the offerings, but overall a good value and location. Breakfast buffet was nice, but could use more selections, especially with the weird breakfast potatoes. The outdoor bar by the pool was a delight, the bartender actually remembered us from early 2020 we were there the weekend before all hell broke loose with Covid. The cottages were clean and well maintained, with a nice view of the lake. I didn't swim in the pool but my family did and enjoyed it. Location is nice- close to the strip, but far enough to not hear the chaos and noise that well. My only wish is that they would have some dog friendly options as I missed my pugs and would love to take them there.
This is such a wonderful hotel. We’ve had the pleasure of staying many times, sometimes in the hotel and sometimes in the cottages. Horizons restaurant is good amd convenient. The location is right near the Strip. The grounds are fantastic, with lake views. It’s a gem.Rooms: 5/5
Our family loves this hotel and restaurant. The views of Lake Erie are stunning. The pool area with indoor and outdoor pools and hot tubs and splash pad is perfect for families. The restaurant is delicious. The rooms with a view on the lake are great for a family getaway. The staff is very helpful and friendly. And as a bonus there are beautiful walks along the lake and a zipline park adjoining the hotel. What more to ask for when traveling with young children? Oh, and it’s just a short bike or car ride from the strip at Geneva-on-the-Lake.
Restaurant and bar were somehow closed more than they were open. Exercise room had an 80's Rocky vibe to it. Surely an afterthought. Presented with a miniature box of s'mores when you check in, which I thought was kind of silly because it's a kid size kit. We stayed two nights and decided what the heck, let's roast them. Went to the counter to get the sticks and asked for another box, but was told it's 1 per room. For $300-$400 a room per night, surely you can let a few of the s'more kits slide. Also, the pool towels need to be discussed at the next team meeting. There should be full size towels available at the pool, instead of the oversized dinner napkins that are provided. Room was decent, with a nice view but the thermostat light in our room was brighter than a Trans Siberian concert and the display could not be turned off. Had to lay a dirty sock over it in order to sleep. My car was backed into by the nicest guy in the parking lot. Underwhelming experience over all, I'd likely do it again .
The woman working at the pool bar gave my husband an attitude because he didn't specify that he had a tab open. No, she didnt ask either. I guess the extra 10 seconds it took to change the tab was an inconvenience for her. Nice atmosphere and the girl at check in was nice. But huge bee problem that needs to be taken care of.Rooms: 4/5
The cottages were absolutely lovely and quaint. The view was beautiful and the amenities superb. We were pleased with the staff, and the location is ideal for dining and enjoying local wineries.Rooms: 5/5
Rooms: Large, clean, thin walls let in noise from ajoining room, differences in room amenities i.e. balconies, views, etc were not explained at check in. Gift Shop: very nice, quality items, HIGH prices Wine Tour: very nice, number of stops varies but the price doesn't. Expect to spend $20-more at each stop. Tour guide was helpful. Location: about a mile from the western end of the GOTL Strip. Bike-able, not really walkable. The only top end hotel for miles so no competition means very high prices. Grounds: a large resort property. Lots of rules and procedures. Restaurant: make reservations, food was pricey but surprisingly good. Service friendly, helpful. Overall: we had a nice stay. Might return to try the cottages but not to stay at the Lodge. The value just isn't there.
Beautiful location on the lake with walking trail adjacent. Large pool complex with indoor/outdoor pools and hot tubs. Bikes provided. Gorgeous views, great proximity to everything. Loved the wine shuttleRooms: 5/5
This is a nice lodge. Beautiful views. This is a nice gem in GOTL. They offer a shuttle service to local wineries which is an added perk. The rooms are comfortable and clean. I had a lovely time. It is also a nice place to have a wedding and wedding reception. The cottages are super cute. Didn't stay in them this time, but have in the past.
