The Loft, created by Samuel Orlando in 2004, was once a simple underground haven for teens and young college students to gather and party during the summer, on school breaks, and of course, St. Peter's Fiesta. As the years wore on, and the "First Generation" grew older, The Loft's appeal seemed to dwindle as its regulars began to discover the bar scene, and parties became few and far between until one day, it closed its hallowed stairs for good.
For six years The Loft lay dormant. Over time, it began to house knick knacks, old Italian lady clothes, and even a statue of the Virgin Mary herself. However one day, in the summer of 2010 as Sam's brother Matthew came of age, he decided to have a party of his own. While The Loft was littered with old toys, books, and some of the most random objects ever found in one space, the "Second Generation" partied until the early hours of the morning until just two remained.
With the assistance of friend and business partner, Michael O'Shea, the two worked until the wee hours of the morning creating the first stage of The Loft. The following day, the two recruited the expertise of friend and business partner Ryan Collard to help create Version One of The Loft, complete with the safety of a door and the infamous lofted bed.
Over the years, The Loft has seen many improvements with the addition of gaming stations, futons, couches, mini fridges, wall mounted beer openers, and of course, more random pieces of crap that truly bring the entity of The Loft to life. Though no matter how many changes The Loft might see, no matter how many people step foot up those terrifying stairs, the message of The Loft will forever stay the same. That in this small piece of wood and concrete, people may come and relax. That its patrons, whether old or young, can forget about their stress and simply enjoy where the night may take them.
