Parking: so chuffed I was able to find a spot right outside the venue. Plenty of street parking in the area, if you’re ok with a short walk. Venue: very cool set up, you enter straight into a bar/holding area before entering the stage theatre through doors on either side. The sound was great with high production values, which can’t always be guaranteed at these smaller venues. I recommend! Note: no food served on the premises, so eat before or prepare for a liquid dinner!
Rear Earth concert. Very cool. Sound was good felt safe and enjoyed the venue. This made my experience great.
My first ever time at this venue and it was a great experience. The security was fast and efficient on the way in. The bartenders were awesome and quick. Smaller venue but makes it way more intimate and actually get to enjoy the show.
Venue was nice. Bathrooms were nice but kind of small - however grateful they were clean. Bottle of water is $4 which isn’t terrible. Would return!
This venue is garbage. I felt like I was going to get mugged the entire time I was in line. Stood in line for 4 hourswas 8 in line. then went through security check and was told to go back outside cause the box office was on the exterior. Waited another hour for the box office to open. Went through security again. Stood in line to get merchandise and decided to run it to my car. Walked past 3 security guards saw no signs warning against leaving. Then I was told there was no reentry. In total I spent $200 and waited for hours in the sun in a dangerous end of town and didn't even get to see the mountain goats. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY IN DETROIT GO TO GRAND RAPIDS.
I've seen a variety of shows here over the last few decades and I must say it is one of my fav spots in the city. The sound is excellent, staff does a great job, entry is quick, and it's easy to get to merch and bar. The only downside is the bathrooms, as the lines get long between bands.
Another great show at the Majestic. Even with a full crowd, you can find a spot to see the stage and have fine sound since the set-up is wide not deep. Capacity is about 1,000, which is a good size for band/crowd interaction. Have your comfy shoes for standing the whole time though. Otherwise, it's easy to get drinks and get to the restrooms. Jerry Harrison & Adrian Belew did a fine job of presenting the Talking Heads songs with awesome backing band.
Very small bathroom situation but overall nice venue! Two bars that are staffed well and we had a great view even though we were situated in the back. We were there for a comedy show so they had pulled out folding chairs, but I've been here for a concert and there was plenty of standing room then.
This was our first time visiting The Majestic Theatre. Tickets for Trampled by Turtles were $35 a piece if purchased prior to the event or $40 at the door. Parking was available behind the theatre for $15. We had a short wait in line outside the venue. We were carded and then we had a band placed on our wrist. They did this even though I told them we would not be drinking. Then, security took a wand and ran it over our bodies. They also checked in my purse. They stamped our wrists. I am not sure why they did this as we also had arm bands. The theatre was crowded and it was difficult for me to see. I did not like the amount of marijuana being smoked out in the open inside the theatre. People were even vaping publicly. People had huge blunts or doobies pick your own word. I have a shorter stature so I had trouble seeing over the 6 foot 4 inch men. It was like all the Amazon men came out to view this concert. One lady was actually knitting so security could not have been that tough on her or scrutinizing bags. The theater looked outdated so it needs some retouching and renovation work. To view the concert, you had to stand as there wasn’t any seats. I had spinal surgery so I lost feeling in my leg and had to leave early. I had no idea that there were seats by the bar where you could sit and watch the concert outside the theatre. Someone spilled a drink all over the exit pathway which was disgusting! We had no idea how to exit to leave the facility. I’ve never had that happen before. A woman fell on the floor right by us. I’m not sure if she was drunk or stood too long. There were signs posted that stated there would be smoke and flashing lights in case you were epileptic. The venue seemed really crowded and it occurred to me that it might have been difficult to leave if something broke out inside the club. I thought the music and sound were acceptable. We took ear plugs as I didn’t want to hurt my hearing. My Apple Watch sounded immediately as we entered saying it was too loud. This place was ok, but I’m not sure if I would return for another concert.
Absolutely wonderful venue. I love this place so much. If you can catch a favorite artist here I suggest you go! The stage set up creates a closer feeling than most places. Great staff who is focused on you having a great time
