Went on 3/24/23. Had the nachos as a appetizer. Very good!! Then for dinner I had pork chops. Cooked very well and great tasting. Came with mashed potatoes. Didn't care for them as they had alot of garlic. Overall great place to go.Food: 4/5
*This place is under new ownership again. No longer serving Indian style food for example curry. Great staff... Very nice, friendly and attentive. Great view. Bad food experience quality. Chicken Alfredo for $17 smelled so bad I had to send it back and I was so nauseated by it so much that I couldn't order a replacement of another dinner. Our appetizer 5 stuffed mushrooms for $14 were barely warm and taste was just ok. The Firewater burger $15 had a decent bun but the burger was equivalent to tasting like a burger that's used in Salisbury steak frozen entrees. You can order a better burger like a mushroom swiss from just about any fast food restaurant. The menu was very small. Only 3 options for a main entree was shocking. Just not much to pick from. Pricey for the options. This might be because of the view of the river and the dam. It has a great view. They're supposed to be getting new menu's so maybe they will add a lot more entrees. Service was reasonable. It didn't take long to be served our food. They brought my salad right out and then my main entree when I was just finishing the salad so good timing. They weren't busy on a Wednesday afternoon. I would not recommend this place for food but maybe would for drinks at the bar in the upstairs area. I didn't order an alcoholic beverage so I might be back sometime to try the bar for drinks and the view.
Stuffed mushrooms were good , but cream cheese was over powering left us wondering where the crab meat was. Cheese curds were fabulous. We had the prime rib which was very good. It comes with the worse Mac n cheese I've ever had. Too starchy and not cheesy. Ambience was terrible. Loud noisy people at the bar made it difficult to hear our waitperson. My suggestion is a sound screen between bar and dining area. This is the most expensive restaurant in Marion and patrons deserve better.
We had a fantastic dinner at Firewater! The atmosphere was fantastic, the food was amazing and the service was top-notch. All of the staff was personable & friendly. We had incredible service at the bar with Anita & Lois. The stuffed mushrooms are absolutely wonderful! Highly recommend visiting Firewater Mill!! It is definitely worth the drive!
Loved it! The food was great and sitting on the balcony provides a beautiful view of the river. They have the same pasta salad the Icehouse used to have.... if you know, you know! I highly recommend trying them out!Food: 5/5
Firewater Mill is an asset to grant county! Fine dining, fine friends, and great environment! What an amazing building on the riverfront with daily specials, superb cocktails, and attention to detail staff! Every time I walk in the door I am welcomed! Will continue to promote and support this local establishment! Thank you for your investment in our community!
From start to finish, the whole dining experience was great . The food was really good as well as the service. My wife and I went there for our anniversary, and we were not disappointed. We highly recommend Firewater Mill. We will be going back.Food: 4/5
Felt sorry for the waitress waiting on the entire restaurant but she did a terrific job. Found the food generally to be good. The Cuban sandwich was not so authentic. Seemed to have pizza sauce or marinara which made it a bit sloppy! Everyone seemed to be pleased overall with other selections. Would go back .Food: 3/5
This is a new restaurant in a very old building, a 170 year old former grist mill. It has been updated and has a nice view of the river. Getting a new restaurant up and going is not easy. So I want to buffer my observations with that understanding. We will return to see if a few of the rough edges are smoothed out by experience. The staff was very friendly. It seemed that our waitress was stretched by covering a lot of folks scattered throughout the large building. My wife enjoyed the very tasty bruschetta. My sirloin was cooked correctly in the thinner portion and more rare in the thicker. That can happen. But the meat was a bit tough, almost grisley. Perhaps the new restaurant is searching for a good source for meat. The beans were good and had good flavor and texture. The mashed potatoes tasted "watery". When we asked if they were boxed or prepared from 'real' potatoes, our server said half and half. I detail all this because at the upper end of the price range, the meat and potatoes of the restaurant business hinges on excellent quality. Again, just opened up, and much to work out, we will give Firewater Mill another try in a few months.
I discovered Friday and Saturday nights are prime rib as long as it lasts. I think we have added a new restaurant to our list. I didn't take a picture, but the crab stuffed mushrooms were delicious.Food: 5/5
