The New America Schools are providing students with the educational tools and support they need to maximize their potential, succeed and live the American dream.
The New America School - Denver Campus now enrolls over 400 students each year in a location convenient for students in Adams and Denver counties, as well as other communities in metropolitan Denver. We have unique opportunities for young parents, former drop outs, and students working full-time to earn high school credits and a diploma.
The school opened in 2005 and moved to the present location for the 2009-2010 school year. To serve the students enrolled at the school, Principal Mike Epke works with an Assistant Principal, 14 teachers, 2 guidance counselors, a Dropout Interventionist, and a strong support staff.
All of Denver's teachers are highly qualified and have been trained in the Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol (SIOP) Model to facilitate high quality instruction for English language learners in content area teaching.
In addition to the core academic subjects of science, math, language arts, and social studies, other class offerings include art, physical education, foreign language, technology, and even more electives. Sports for both boys and girls include soccer and basketball through the school and the students' voice can be heard through an active student government.
The mission of The New America School is to empower new immigrants, English language learners and academically underserved students with the educational tools and support they need to maximize their potential, succeed and live the American dream.
