We came here for lunch and my husband had the new England clam chowder. He said it was very good. It was creamy and had chucks of clams. I had the turkey club and the turkey was very good and thick cut and not the luncheon meat you see everywhere else. My daughter had the chicken fingers and she days is was the best homemade fingers she has eaten. Definitely would come back.
What you got in that sauce! Homemade tartar sauce is a flavor all it's own and it is lovely! Tangy, sweet and the creamy that you need to offset the crunchy deep fry. We asked for a "shrimp poor boy", not on the menu, but the owner was happy to whip it up. If you haven't had deep fried shrimp in buffalo sauce on a buttered roll then you are missing out on life. The shrimp was juicy, flavorful and still had a crunch from the breading even though it was tossed in buffalo sauce. Our other two meals were whole belly clam and clam strip rolls, yep, that's right, under that massive pile of clams is your buttered, toasted roll, HUGE portions! Perfectly cooked fries and onion rings added a nice addition as a side, but their menu lists homemade chips, or even potato salad alternatives. We tried a cup of chowda as well, we had too, creamy, hot, good underlying smokey bacon flavor. A few locals were leaving as we pulled in and we asked advice on what was good - burgers, steak and cheese and pretty much everything was the response. It was a Friday, a little after lunch and the parking lot was full, but a take out order only took 15 minutes. I would definitely come back the next time we are in Maine. Parking: I bet this is a busy place during the summer, theybhave a dedicated parking lot, but it will fill up quick.
What a hidden gem!! Look for the sign and stop in. You won’t be disappointed. We stopped for a late lunch on our way home after a wonderful stay in Kennebunkport. Wanted one last seafood lunch. Started with sangria and a beach dreams very nice!! Had their mussels for an appetizer it was huge, the mussels were delicious. And the captans plater was plenty for both of us. Their fried food is very light and not the least bit greasy. It has a nice sports bar atmosphere plenty of omen seating, prices are very reasonable and the service was excellent. If you’re driving on rte 1 in the area and want great food and beverages you can’t go wrong stopping here. Look closely cause it doesn’t jump out at you driving by. Cheers Dan.
My mom and I had dinner here and it was a fantastic experience. Our server Trevor was attentive and patient, the drinks are great, the restroom is clean and the food taste and portions are top notch. We had the clam chowder, the lazy man’s lobster and the seafood rotini. We were so excited to try the main courses that we forget to take the pictures until we had already started eating! We both sampled each dish and had only positive things to say. All are great choices and we highly recommend!
Best clamstrips I have ever eaten! Great coleslaw also. Wait staff was excellent.Food: 5/5
Came for lunch with a friend. Delicious food. Good bang for your buck. Im a big guy and i still took home a to-go box. Friendly staff. Cheerful atmosphere.Food: 5/5
Chicken Tenders were moist Coleslaw was good, I think buttermilk based Nachos was good. That was 2022 Came back 2023 One thing I noticed was that they changed the breading for the chicken strips. Is it corn starch coated now?
Food is GREAT! Atmosphere is GREAT!! Especially seated outdoors. Here's the thing, My family and I frequent here many times over the summer. We went there over the weekend with 7 of us, at 11:45am, and an empty restaurant, only to be greeted at the door by the hostess telling us that it is their policy that they can not accommodate a table of more than 6 with no exceptions. Mind you 2 of us are my 7 year old twins. They would not even split the table into 2 separate tables with 2 different servers. We were simply told to go up the street to a different establishment! UNACCEPTABLE! Really turned away our business! We will now find a new favorite in Wells and I suggest you do the same! Extremely rude to us for no reason. Beachfire was happy to have us!
Atmosphere and staff is super nice. Food was good price but just ok. Nothing crazy memorable, but the cocktails were delicious! OH! But their fried pickles are some of the best ones I EVER had. Those were amazing and memorable. Definitely get those!
The first time eating here. It was a pub atmosphere with a lot of the locals that come here. The food was excellent, very fresh, good portions and our waitress was very accommodating. The prices were very reasonable compared to other restaurants in the area. They also had a takeout area outside. They're choices in salads and seafood seem to be very popular items. Would highly recommend and would definitely go back! Vegetarian options: Offered a variety of different choice of salads. Parking: Parking was right next to the restaurant in same parking lot Wheelchair accessibility: There were no stairs upon entering the restaurant.
