Overall the hotel was nice, rooms, lobby and breakfast area nice and relaxing. Some updates have been done but needs update, fixing and major cleaning. The outside grounds are terrible- weeds, overgrown shrubs,etc. Looking pretty run down- not great appeal. The pool and hot tub area were also substandard. Would have expected a bit nicer of a place for the price.
The general manager unblocked a room for me when they were booked, which I did appreciate. However, if I knew I was going to spend $170 for this outdated basic room, I would have never taken it. The mattress is horribly uncomfortable and the walls are paper thin. The desk chair was stained and gross and the phone in the room did not work. For that much money it would have been nice to actually get some sleep. I definitely DO NOT recommend this hotel. The owner should be ashamed for price gouging so much.
Just checked in and room is dirty. Luckily they let me use vacuum to clean the floor. Wiping down bathroom with Lysol wipes as the counters and desk were dusty and dirty . The spa was nice however did not stay for breakfast. Beds were comfortable Noteworthy details: My service dog and my husbands dog were welcomed and the front desk lady was nice. Just need more cleaning. Have not tried the pool or breakfasts here yet
Have stayed here in the past, but this place has really gone downhill. So disappointing, had to ask if we were getting fresh towels and trash emptied at 11am? Was told that housekeeping would be up to the 3rd floor after they finished the 2nd floor. Came back to our room after 3pm, no towels and no trash emptied. Went down to the lobby and talked to the front desk, she took our room number down and said she'd get housekeeping to take care of it. Came back to the room later, the towels were in a clump on the sink, the used towels laying on the bathroom floor.... trash was emptied. Breakfast went from hot pans of scrambled eggs with bacon or sausage to frozen sandwiches and frozen omelets, needless to say, both were sub par with lots of water setting in the bottom.... disgusting! Went to use the pool the other night, it was ok but the whirlpool had all kinds of debris floating around and needs a serious cleaning. Won't be staying here ever again!
Don't pay cash. They will find any reason to keep your deposit. Tried working with manager Mark and he kept hanging up on me and refused to give me a receipt. Hope he enjoys the 200 he kept. He needs it more than I do.Rooms: 1/5
Seemed like a decent hotel until we got into our room and our pillows were covered in someone else’s hair. Sheets were dirty and room was oddly humid. Unfortunate that such a beautiful area has such a lackluster hotel.Rooms: 1/5
For $200 a night including taxes and fees they did NOT clean the room and we had to ask for clean towels! I understand that help is at a premium, but the rate of service and the breakfast did not equal the price.
It's an older property but clean and the staff are very helpful. I would highly recommend you bring your own pillow.Rooms: 3/5
Pulled in around midnight Charged us $175 for a single night stay Room was okay Left scratching our heads on why a 2 star hotel in Valentine NE cost so much money Will keep driving next time
It was a pretty good place. We will come back! That being said. We chose this place in large part because it advertised a hot tub which we thought would be great after long days of hiking and biking. Turns out the hot tub was not hot. They said maintenance would be in on Monday to fix it when we leave. That of course doesn't help much. It would appear they also sprayed for boxelders right before the weekend and then didn't get the dead ones all cleaned up. Our room had a frozen beer in the fridge and was out of body wash and conditioner in the shower. Of course we managed to survive these inconveniences and as I said will very likely be back again. Friendly people. Comfortable rooms Breakfast was pretty darn good.
