I think the Orange Peel is a great venue. I’ve had a lot of really good experiences here. It’s a good size and always turns an energetic crowd. Orange Peel gets a good variety of different artists. The drink selection isn’t bad and the staff do a good job. The outdoor space for smoking is also good to hang out at between sets
Loved it! Intimate venue...all tickets are general admission, but they had a seating area for handicap people to the side of the stage with a great view. The show was amazing!
Went there for the Tegan and Sara concert a few days ago with my boyfriend and his sister and her wife and had an absolutely amazing time. If things get too intense in the main concert hall there's a terrace where you can go smoke and a really chill bar downstairs that serves actual drinks aka liquor where you can kinda get away from the crowd if you get overwhelmed. Would highly recommend.
This place is awesome! Small venue and a great vibe! Never felt too packed even though show was sold out, and we were in the front of the show against the wall divider. Security guards very accommodating giving bottles of water to people at front when it was the 3rd band of night. Will absolutely be back!
Get's decent bands through but layout isn't forgiving when shows are sold out. Pulp is nice if you need to rest but still want to watch the show it's streamed to TVs. Has an outside for smoking. Not the greatest for short folk. Easy to walk to because you will absolutely need to find parking. Body searches can be a little intense sometimes. I've been here hundreds of times and will continue to return.
The bar tenders were great, beer prices were very reasonable in my opinion, the location is amazing, and the sound was really good that night. Uber pickup was really easy. I can't wait to visit again!
Love the Orange Peel as a venue because it's small and intimate. The beer is local, and the staff is top-notch. If you're going for a concert, be aware there's no seating! So wear comfortable shoes. There's a huge fan in the middle to help with air flow which you seriously need being around sweaty comrades, and they provide plenty of cool water so you can hydrate. Love the Peel!!
Nice variety of beers on tap at two bars on opposite sides of the floor. Acts from opening to closing were great and high energy. Staff ensured a friendly and fun environment and were making sure not to over serve people. Anyone who needed help was able to get some pretty immediately from the staff. Facilities were clean and despite being packed the place kept a warm but not overly so temp. Will come back!
Went here last weekend for AVL Fest and saw 2 great bands! Band sets were 1 hour each, so they played their best stuff. It was enough time to get a good feel for each band's music. Sat. nite was Dust Bowl Revival who did a great job! The sound mix was excellent! Sunday night we saw Jonathan Scales who plays ecclectic steel drum jazz with an excellent bassist and drummer. Unfortunately, the sound mix was kind of muddy. The drummer was too loud and tended to drown out the steel drum. The Orange Peel is an AVL institution that I'm guessing can hold a maximum of 800 standing people. There are only a few bar stools available, so if you are physically compromised and can't stand all night, I suggest you get there really early before a show so you can score one of the few stools. The venue has a large, high stage that allows for decent views for the crowd. Talented lighting techs and sound techs help make the most of the space acoustically. Finally, the giant ceiling is a blessing! It does a great job of cooling the entire floor. Nice staff. I would rate it a 4 out of 5 stars. I'll try to upload a clip of Dust Bowl Revival to go with this review.
I recently went to The Orange Peel for the first time and honestly my expectations were exceeded. There were many people at the concert I went to but the venue is air conditioned so I didn’t get hot once. The cocktails at Pulp were delcious, the beer was good and the bartenders were so nice. I will definitely be coming back
