Once upon a time...., but like Brigadoon it has faded into history. We're closed for business.
A Brief History of a unique bed and breakfast -
Steve opened the doors Thanksgiving 1974. 4 small rooms, two upstairs (under the eaves) and two down.
In 1984 the rooms were enlarged, and an "owner's bedroom and bath were added. In 1988 he added a wife, and with Sandi's enthusiasm things really progressed. The following year they added a large addition for themselves, which included a breakfast room for guests and expanding the existing guest living room. By 1990 a second bathroom upstairs, and later, in 2005, an additional one downstairs, providing for all private baths. (Just listening to the desires of the customer!)
In 1996 they moved the whole house 300 feet (the Hudson River wanted it) and created all new landscaping. 1996 was also the first time they went up on the web, and as you all know, that was just the beginning!
In 2012 came the ending. Country Road Lodge closed its doors to the public in June 2012, after 38 years. It has been a wonderful ride, guests from all over the United States and the World. We have made many wonderful friends - but its time to move on to other adventures.
