Pretty much the only place to eat and stay there for miles on the blue ridge parkway. A retro and quant establishment that served awesome hamburgers, coleslaw and beer battered fries. Don't go there expecting atmosphere but good food and friendly people including the staff. The hotel is old fashion but just renovated. The room was large with no TV. That's fine we can always take a break from the television. There was a coffee maker in room. This was good as the restaurant was not open for breakfast. And if you are traveling south the turn into there can be missed. Remember Mile marker 268 because phone service and GPS can be iffy.
This is a nice place. It feels like a little piece of down home away from home. The staff is sweet and friendly and the atmosphere is comfy and pleasant. You should definitely go for the cookie cake!
I've never had anything that wasn't delicious here. I love the vibe and the people. Take a nice ride on the Blue Ridge parkway, pop by and give them a try.Food: 5/5
Stayed here for one night on our way through the Blue Ridge Parkway room was excellent and I was lucky enough to get there in time to get some dinner which was really good you must get the brisket next time I’m in the area I love to spend a week here
Worse than Schitt's Creek. Woman took my credit card info over the phone amd told me to call 15 minutes before arrival and someone would bring us the key to our room. I called 3 hours before, and several times after amd no one ever answered or brought us a key. The office was unlocked but no one was there. I can't beleive this mess.
We stayed at the Park Vista Inn from July 10th through July 13th. When I called to make the reservation, November 27th, they told me check in takes place at the restaurant between 3pm and 4pm. If I wasn't going to be able to check in by 4pm, I would need to call. I told them I would be bringing two pets and they told me there would be a one time pet fee of $25. On Sunday, July 10th, we arrived at 4:00pm on the dot. There were no cars in the restaurant parking lot, the doors to the restaurant were locked, and the hours that were posted said the restaurant closed at 3:00pm on Sundays. We drove up the driveway to the first row of rooms and found the office. There was a young girl, 2 dogs, and 2 men outside. I asked them about check in. They told me to call Amanda. I told them I don't have her phone number. They asked if we knew what room we were checking into. I told them we did not. They called Amanda and Amanda drove up to let us in. I went into the restaurant with Amanda and she asked if I was still planning to stay the 3 nights. I said yes. She quoted me a number and I asked if that included the pet fee. She asked me what kind of pets. I said 2 dogs. She asked me how much they weigh. At this point, I was starting to get nervous because I had just driven from 3 hours away and had the dogs in the car with me. I told her how much they weighed and she said okay. The only paper I signed was the restaurant receipt I was given. See picture. I thought it was unusual that there was no other paperwork. I was handed a key see picture and that was it. The room was nice, obviously recently renovated the first block of rooms is currently closed for renovation. The restaurant remained closed Monday and Tuesday so we had to drive 20+ minutes to the next town to get breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Room service/maid service did not come through until 10:50am on July 13th 10 minutes before official check out time. There was 1 trashcan outside of the block of rooms and it did not get emptied until check out so it was overflowing from all 10 rooms emptying their individual trash cans into it. I'm glad we didn't need extra towels, soap, or anything else because we had no one to contact to get those things. Had I known that we were going to have to drive 20+ minutes into town for each meal, I would have just booked an Airbnb. Usually one of the benefits to booking a hotel is at least breakfast being offered on the property, let alone office staff being around or reachable if you need anything. We were never given a phone number to call after checking in in case we needed anything. We met the people staying in the room two doors down from ours and they said there was food left in the refrigerator in their room.
Our favorite place to go on the Northern side of the Blue ridge Parkway NC side. So pleased to see it "back open" after a short closure...it is back "better than ever". You CANNOT go wrong there...
Great choice to finish off a lovely day along the Parkway. Easily accessible although parking was tight off the Blue Ridge Parkway. Views from inside are not spectacular… and as we didn’t have a reservation didn’t realize how popular this place is we couldn’t get a table outside. The brisket is a house speciality …and mine was succulent and tasty! Service was good—but obviously management needs more help for the volume of customers.
Stayed here for a wedding. Nestled in the hill is this cute little old school charm with new school feel hotel and restaurant. They are working steadily to get it into ship shape. The restaurant was great. Food was awesome. Drink selection was good. Shoutout to Tequila who was super friendly and had a great aura. Talked with the manager and owner as well for a brief moment! Awesome, kind, hospitable folks all around! Great time, next time I’m in town from Chicago, I’ll be back.
Very good food! A Chef and his wife run this quaint restaurant very close to the intersection of the Blue Ridge Parkway and Park Vista Rd.
