Worst experience ever! We bought bedroom with night stands, drawers and mirror for 4500$ almost 4 months ago! They’re changed delivery date three or four times! Finally they bring two night stands and drawer couple days ago and they was with damages! The manager from store said that they will exchange it! But we need waiting one month more! And told that they can make discount only 250$ . In addition, quality of furniture is different from what is on display. Drawers are not closing automatically Me and my husband are very upset. We want to make a cancel our order and we’re not recommend The Room Place store! This store not working for quality and they don’t worry about their reputation....
They are having a moving sale, I got a good deal on a bench that initially cost $399. I bought it for $100. My friend bought pillows that were originally $79.99, she bought 2 for a total of $104.00. Maggie assisted us and it was evident that the staff work on commission as we were being followed around, however it wasn't in a pushy way.
Quality of furniture is awful. Our couch was delivered with many industrial staples left poking out of cushions. One my daughter cut her knee open on. Those staples also caused damage to the fabric of the sofa. But unfortunately I don’t have documentation and evidence so it’s not covered in the warranty. So I’m thinking ok, well at least I can get our money back like the salesman told me if we don’t use the warranty. Should have read the fine print earlier... I will be getting store credit, not my money back. 2 months after we purchased our couch the cushions became saggy. The fabric snags easily and has on zippers of coats, toys, and those lovely staples that were an added bonus. I’m extremely unsatisfied with our purchase.
Store employees were great, however their delivery has been pushed so many times I would never purchase anything from them again. My oldest child has been without his furniture after a home purchase for weeks. I can't even tell him when it will be here, because I cannot trust their employees. They schedule and reschedule because they don't even know when the product arrives at theirown warehouse. They claim all furniture places are going through this because of covid, which is an absolute lie.
We went there to get furniture for our new apartment yesterday. Our salesperson Maggie was very helpful when it came to choosing furniture. We would definitely come back to buy again. I will always be going with The RoomPlace from now on.
They were really helpful, both the manager and the salesman. My wife and I had really bad backpain for months. he suggested beautyrest black firm. We did the financing. We were eligible for $400 store credit, so he suggested buying pillows, one pillow for $150, this sounds horrible, but honestly it was worth every penny. we bought 3 pillows for $450. both the manager and the salesman were very very helpful. I totally recommend going there. I had a bad experience with sleep number the salesman gave me wrong information about the warranty of the mattress, i ordered p8 and then when i found out after 3 years or so, i need to pay 20% with an increment of 4% every year, i cancelled my order. My cousin recommended roomplace not this branch, they bought mattress and furniture from the one near Glen Ellyn and i had good experience with them. The manager was so nice that she even came to escort us to the door.to me this is a great honor they respected me, my wife and my child they were not rude - even when my daughter is kind of wild. i don't give reviews but these people totally worth it.
This is the 3rd time I bought from the room place in the last decade. Each time I was drawn into with a special offer I couldn't resist and end up ordering. None of the experiences is great. This time, I am completely frustrated overall, quality of furniture, delivery guys courtesy, issue not fixed despite multiple replacements. What you see on the floor is quite different from the actual item delivered. Bunk bed / dining table, and sofa. Bunk bed quality is terrible n prompting me for this reply. After 2 months of delivery, the glass on the table cracked on its own, they refused to replace.
The sales associate was really rude. She made us very uncomfortable as she was constantly following us and pressuring us to buy something. When we finished looking around, she kept asking us if we liked anything and I said maybe I have to do a bit more research. She immediately turned away and snobbishly told us “good luck” in a stupendously pretentious tone. So rude. Didn’t even say bye or thanks for coming in even though we were the only customers in the entire store.
6/20/15 I purchased a bed, dresser and mattress. Delivery was scheduled for 6/26/15. 6/26/15 I received a voicemail stating that the driver was able to deliver the furniture early and he was at the location. I left work and when I got home 5 minutes later no one was there. I called the store and told them and they denied that they left me that voicemail and I asked if they were gonna be able to deliver early and was told no that it was offered to someone else because I did not call them back in time. More like they didn't give me a chance to call back. The furniture was delivered later that day, damaged, pictures were taken and sent to the store. Was told cannot return or choose anything else only thing I can do is even exchange. Salesperson did not say anything to me about purchasing outlet furniture and I did not see any signs and failed to mention that you cannot return the items for a refund. I show the pictures of the damaged furniture to the salesperson in person at the store. Decided to exchange since that was the only option and was told bed to be delivered on 06/30 and dresser on 07/18. 06/30 furniture was delivered and again damaged. They said they can exchange and would inspect before it leaves the warehouse. Delivery for all furniture was to be on 07/18 now. 07/18 no one shows up with delivery. I call the store the next day and they tell me that they left me a voicemail that it changed to 7/25. First of all no voicemail ever or call for that matter and why would you change the delivery date without confirming with the customer. So now delivery will be 07/25 07/25 furniture was supposed to be here between 2-5pm. 4:30pm I get a call saying they will be there before 6:30pm. 6:30pm rolls around and no furniture, I call the number no answer, the store tries to contact the driver and no answer. They finally show up at 8:00pm and for the 3rd time the furniture is damaged. Pictures are taken of the damaged furniture. I called the store and talked to Customer Care and told them I was unhappy and wanted to return the items. Was told we will deliver a new set and will inspect before it leaves the warehouse. I said no and that I am going to the store and talk to them. 07/26 I take the pictures into the store to show the original salesperson and I tell him they need to do a return. He says I will talk to the Customer Care Manager and get back to you tomorrow. 07/27 he calls around 12:00pm and tells me we will give you the option to choose something else and I said no I want it returned and he again says I will have to talk to the Customer Care Manager and get back to you today. At 4:00pm still hadn't heard anything so I call and talk to the salesperson and he says I am still waiting for response to my email. I will get back to you tomorrow. 07/28 I called the salesperson at 1:00pm because I had not heard anything. He says let me call you back I will call the manager and talk to them. He finally calls back and says they are gonna return the items. What the heck, I cannot believe I went through all this. I don't care if the furniture is wood, laminate, glass, etc... it should be delivered damage free of any scratches, nicks, cuts, peeling laminate, dents, cracks, chips, splits in the wood etc... Seems like all this company cares about is money, they don't care about whether their customers are happy or satisfied with the product. Once it's purchased oh well it's out of our hands kinda attitude. I will never recommend this place to anyone and it's sad to say since I have spent thousands of dollars at this store in the past 15-20 years.
Just like many of the stories in list, I've had issues with the quality of the furniture I purchased. It's exactly 2 years, and I have springs coming up, in the couch I purchased. I've also had a bunch of issues with the "deferred interest" credit line they offered. Very shady operation. Anyway, when I called to file a claim, I was told that I only purchased the fabric protection and that if I purchased a higher level plan, for an additional $100, the frame issue I'm having, would have been covered. What a scam . I will never buy from the "Roomplace" used to be Harlem Furniture and the quality was much better back then. My advise, assume that what you are buying is low quality. Stay away or at least make sure you buy all the protection you can. If you add up all the aggravation and repair costs, it might be worth looking at some higher quality stores.
