I used to love this store..,Prices are now way too high and unreasonable . A lot of new staff. Many good staff gone . What happened? This used to be a very reasonably priced store . Visited today. Not going back again. Donated a Sony Blue Ray DVD Player and a Roku. No receipt or coupon given for donation.
I was once on an AARP program which gave me the inside privilege of working here recently for 5 months. This review reflects April 2022: this store shows drastic changes have been made in layout & product offered. Gone are the row upon row of coffee cups, vases, wicker baskets & other high volume items once taken for granted. Electronics are taken care of & tested before displayed. A big gripe of mine. No more coffee makers set out with the coffee grinds all molded from the previous owner. I used to hate those things but covid has slowed the thrift store industry to a crawl & trust me the salvation army needed that. Too many good items were being thrown away as they were thrown upon a conveyor belt between stores for about a week before sold at bulk in a bin which if they survived from all the abuse might end up overpriced at Value Village. I saw a lot of good items destroyed by that process. In clothing prices were set to sell & surprised how many good items they had. No big markups simply because something comes with a popular name. Furniture is one of this stores Landmarks & i was surprised to see a chipendale sofa with more marks on the queen ann legs than the durable upholstery which covered it. These are expensive high class sofas not made to lay on, but demand attention, good posture with a hefty price tag... even used. I cried when i saw it still available at $80 -even better with a 20% senior discount. I posted a few select furniture items
When were comments dated. Today is 8/11/22. All furniture is gone. I went in about a month ago.Nearly empty shelves except for jewelry counter. Manager said they r remodeling. Still taking donations, but hasn't been much. It Was a great place. I totally missed the sell out if there was one.
It's heyday was very brief and now this store is starting to remind me of Frye's Electronics in Renton during its last days, denial and all. I see the same unsold and overpriced junk over and over again, spread a little further apart each time to try and cover the vast empty floor space. It's not really worth the trip anymore, it's just kind of sad.
It's the usual mix of items that are found at thrift stores. Shopping here would be dependent on what community organizations get supported, and if you want your purchase to go to that cause. I gave 4 out of 5 stars since the pricing was a little high for second use merchandise. Again, it's where and how much you want to help for the spend.
While the customer service was great, the prices are crazy my peeps! We should all be in the cycle of giving and buying second hand, you know save the planet and look good doing it, what the point if you can get the same thing at Fred Meyer brand new for the same cost. 25$ for some st John bay shorts is not ok. I will continue to shop here as you can get a deal and the programs they make possible are great .. but ... Please keep the prices nice.
As an avid thrifter this place is a waste of time. They have more sales floor than stock. Anything remotely vintage is priced sky high, regardless of condition. The store is poorly organized. The clothes are meant to be is size categories. They are not. I understand that thrifting has become gentrified, but these prices are quite over the top. I found a modern dress that had something all over it. Maybe deodorant, maybe not. Priced at $12. That’s a lot for a plain dress with possible staining. I explained to the very nice cashier that in order to wash it, the tag would have to come off. But if it’s stained no tag is a problem for a return. The dressing rooms are closed, so this item was priced and put out for sale in this condition. He asked a seemingly more senior employee who just repeated the return policy and basically said I was out of luck if the stain didn’t come off. I asked if the item could be discounted, she looked shocked I would suggest such a thing. She told me no, I waved good bye without buying anything. So terrible & inconsistent prices, disorganized store, lack of depth of stock and employees who aren’t empowered to do anything other than repeat policy and not really care that it doesn’t make sense. I mean, do they think I stained the dress myself? Give this sh*t show a miss and head to the North Seattle or Edmonds Goodwill. The prices are also nuts, but at least it’s organized 85%correctly and they have more than a few scant things to choose from. Sadly, this store is permanently off my thrift list.
Here are 4pm to do a donation and it's totally closed. All indications say they should be open till 6pm today. ;
the donation center is closed due to short staffed which I understand it could be difficult since Covid. They said that it was opened yesterday but no one knows the schedule until the day of and that’s straight up poor management. Drove all the way here for nothing. Wish they could put up a better sign at the store front.
They no longer have public bathrooms...even when your old, disabled or for a child and were rude about it! I'll go to other thrift stores from now on who care more about their customers and don't push them off to use bathrooms at surrounding stores! POOR POLICY! Update: they no longer accept returns or exchanges and the fitting rooms are no longer available due to some customer issues! Looks like a place that is going to be closed in the near future, sadly...
