Welcome to The SeaQuest Nest. Follow along as we work as a family to transform this house and add some chickens to the fold too...
When your husband is a builder, you get used to moving. Craig and I have designed and built countless homes together. SeaQuest Development was born fourteen years ago when we moved to Charleston from Columbus, Ohio. Craig loved historic renovation and was able to fulfill that love when we lived in German Village, a wonderful neighborhood in downtown Columbus. But when we moved to Mount Pleasant, his focus became custom home building. He loves details and is passionate about creating unique and inspiring spaces for his customers. I try to help him with the design elements of his homes in between raising our three kids, teaching SPIN and working in advertising sales.
When we sold our last house, we moved into a rental home in a wonderful neighborhood called Hobcaw Point. We absolutely fell in love and decided we'd like to stay a while. After a long search, we found 133 Sampa- a diamond in the rough. We like to name our houses and we dubbed this one, The SeaQuest Nest. (You'll soon find out why.)
The SeaQuest Nest is different than any other home we've done. It's our first renovation project that will eventually be our personal home. (Although, Craig thinks we'll get an offer on this house before we're done and we'll never get a chance to live there. Who knows? Maybe he's right...)
Our kids love design even more than we do and we've decided that this project will include their input as well! It's truly a family affair.
But the thing that excites us all the most about this house is the backyard shed. Why? Because it's getting renovated too! And when it's done, it will be a chicken coop and home to the newest members of the Himes clan. We hope you enjoy following along as we build The SeaQuest Nest.
Love,
Nina, Craig, Wilson, Henry, Farris and Angus the dog.
