I know this store did not have great references, but we used them to put in new drapes for a sliding door. The team and our rep, Sorcha Baty, did a great job. Everything came in on-time, works perfectly and looks great. I would recommend them and work with them again.
I find The Shade Store often has exactly what I need for [almost] 1/2 the cost of traditional fabrication of window treatments. The variety of fabrics is ample. The majority of styles used in the marketplace are what they offer. If you need something beyond that then by all means go custom but why go there automatically if you don't have to. The fabrics offered are both stylish & made of long lasting material, [ made to hold up to our Fl sun]. As an Interior Designer I would definitely recommend this company.
I would definitely recommend the shade store to anyone who is looking for window treatments for their windows. From start to finish the experience was painless. What they promised time wise from ordering to installing was amazing. This is a great company and I love the lifetime guarantee. All my house now has roller shades installed by the shade store. I had the inside completed on one order then the Florida Room. My sales lady Sorcha was so helpful and she gave great advise. I had 2 different people who measured up and 2 different installers. They were all professional. What a wonderful experience.
The customer service is good up to your purchase, beyond no interest or sense of urgency and carelessness. Product gets mail at a decent time but installation appointments are far apart and delayed. My blinders got installed on 10/20 one was to big, they promised sending temporary blinder nothing was sent, 4 weeks later wrongly installed again, waiting for appointment 5 weeks after initial installation. There is a huge delayed for installation and even though this was their mistake they push out their installation without interest to fix their error in a timely manner. I cannot believe that 5 weeks later I am still struggling because they don’t fix their mistakes. Good think I only order half of them, will take my business elsewhere. They really do not care, they apologize but not solve anything, they are good at charging the order, that is the only thing done efficiently. ANSWER TO THE SHADE STORE Everyone at your company states they are sorry but no interest shown. Your reply is political, if interested in helping or doing something I should not be reaching out to you, you have my name and a database with my contact information and you should be reaching out to me not the other way! Update 11/22/2021 After posting review, within a couple of hours the post installation manager reach out to me, and within less than 24 hours shades were reinstalled. Also, installation charges reimbursed. Finally, someone that care. Will increase to 2 from 1 Star initial review.
The consultants started out very engaged and appeared eager to support my need for motorized shade and drapery. Their less than pleasant service professional came out and completed all of the measurements then I received a follow up email asking me to provide the details of my selections. Once I provided the information, I got no communication of value. They really dropped the ball and appeared incredibly disorganized. Wasted weeks of my time so I have decided to go with a more reliable company.
I built a home a little over a year ago and the finishing touches were the drapes and the shades! I just realized I never did give them the shout out they deserve, been busy I guess. The process was fun, picking out the colors and material. Everyone at the shade store was soooo helpful and they worked as a team to answer any questions or concerns I had. The installers were professional and respected my home. I have the motorized shades and drapes in most of the rooms and was told that I'd need to charge them from time to time, it's been over a year and still have not had to charge them yet! Great Job Shade Store! Thank you!
We have had quite the issues with this company. I chose them even though I received the highest quotes from them. I assumed being a large company they would have quality products and installers I could trust. We are using The Elan system, and wanted our blinds to be wired so they could be used through an app. They sent out a guy to measure, who seemed to know what he was doing, so when he requested we move the wires in the windows to accommodate the blinds, we did. Our carpenter moved everything at our expense. When the blinds finally arrived, the installer said all the wires were in the wrong places, so our carpenter rushed around cutting more holes in our windows to move all the wires once again. The installer told us The Shade Store had quit using these "contract installers" because they were inept. As he began to pull out the shades, he soon discovered that only 4 of the shades were the correct size. The other 20 were measured incorrectly. He left and said he was going directly to the store to talk to our salesperson, and she would be in touch that day. I never heard from her. Her name is Sorcha. When I contacted her never by phone, she’s never there when I call, she said the installer people or whoever would call. I never heard a peep. I contacted her again, and she apologized and said that someone had tried to call and even left voicemails. Well, that blew my confidence in them even more. With smart phones, I can easily see if that is true. It was not. Meanwhile, we’re on the coast with huge open windows where people can see directly in. Not to mention the gouged windowsills where the wires have been relocated. The back and forth has been going on since December. It’s hot, the sun is brutal, and we need window coverings. I’ve found another installer and company, but I can’t pull the trigger because The Shade Store won’t return my $20,000+, and they won’t call me back. I’ve even contacted their corporate office where someone told me they understood my frustration and she would talk to her boss or whoever, and get back to me. She said it was a lot of money, so they would need to get approval. Yes it’s a lot of money, it’s MY MONEY! That was two weeks ago. On top of all of this, the 4 blinds they installed have the wrong motor system. All I want is my money back so I can get some window coverings! When I do get to order from the other company, it will still be at least 4 more weeks we have to live without anything on our windows. Please don’t use this huge company with horrible customer service. I have American Express disputing this now.
Amended March 16, 2021: Jacklyn Decker, Customer Care Manager with The Shade Store, reached out to me via email and provided me with a full refund based on my experience. -------------------------------- Do not use this company for the reasons I state below. In the fall of 2020, I purchased roller shades from The Shade Store in Winter Park, FL. The service I received following my purchase was anything but the "incredible service" they tout on their website. My below comments were sent to customer service, my design consultant Terri Kane, and corporate months ago along with a follow up. I never received a response from either party. On November 16, I had roller shades and a valance installed. Unfortunately, the valance arrived cracked and I did not receive the chargers I was told would be accompanying this order. The installers told me I would be receiving a call from Customer Service to correct. After 24 hours of not hearing from anyone, I called Customer Service myself and was told my Design Consultant needed to re-order a valance and that Customer Service would send me a charger. On November 20, I receive an email that my valence has been reordered and on November 23 I received an email making me aware that my valance install date was December 21 nearly a month later!. Fast forward three weeks, and I never received my charger. After calling Customer Service again, I learned that the order was never placed! I asked what was the issue and why wasn't this ordered the first time. He is unable to explain why I was told it was ordered but the order was never placed. On December 9, I received notification that my new valance would be arriving. Upon speaking to the FedEx driver and explaining I lived on the 4th floor and we would need to carry the package up the stairs, he said this required a different FedEx service and he would have to reschedule. The delivery was rescheduled for December 11. However, upon the driver arriving at my condo, he was by himself! I was surprised because now we are back in the same situation I was in on December 9. He was unable to assist me up the stairs because that was not in the scope of his work. I was told that FedEx spoke to The Share Store and the The Shade Store said not to pay for the extra service to assist in delivery. Even FedEx said this should have been White Glove service. This should have been brought to my attention. Not only was time wasted, but I could have made up the difference in cost. As if the above mishaps were not frustrating enough, I was supposed to have my new valance installed before the holidays. To my surprise, the installer was sent alone and said I will need to reschedule a new install date because it's not possible for him to install by himself. I'm confused as to why he was sent alone knowing the scope of the job. My situation at Christmas: I had a broken valance and a 12 ft box in my living room. According to the customer service link I received to reschedule, the earliest install date was January 12 keep in mind readers that this is about 2 months later…. This was unacceptable since these issues have all been the fault of The Shade Store. I will not be using them again nor do I recommend using them.
Beware! They will rip you off, take your money upfront, have backordered products, fail to communication and give you terrible customer service. Worst company I've ever tried to do business with. Even worse, when I canceled my order after everything I experienced, they won't give me my full refund. I've never seen a company so "thirsty for a dollar". Don't buy any of the BS they are selling...I'm trying to tell you the truth. Beware of the "Shadey" store!
I recently purchased shades and blinds from The Shade Store. I wasn’t sure which window treatments would be right for my home and from our conversation Nikki Swift was able to determine exactly what would look best. The ordering and delivery process ran smoothly and Alex did a great job installing my shades/blinds. They look awesome!! I am very pleased with my purchase and would highly recommend The Shade Store.
