Great food, fast & courteous service. Nostalgic interior! Thanks for a great experience!
Very relaxed atmosphere with a "hole in the wall" aesthetic to it. Service was respectful and respectable. Awesome food, burgers had that classic backyard cookout taste to them and fries were well made and seasoned. Definitely going back soon.
On Tuesday Sept 28 we went to Fort Payne to see the Alabama museum. After our tour we rode up to town and went to the park. We walked downtown looking for a place to eat and someone recommended The Strand. We walked in to a pleasant surprise. We found it charming and whimsical. Me met a friendly man named Heath. He told us about the specials and what was good. My sister and I both ordered the burgers. As we waited for for our food we chatted with Heath who talked to us told us stories and gave us Alabama fans some inside information. He told us stories about the band and just all round friendly. Our burgers came out hot and fresh and the onion rings were big enough to use as a bracelet. The tea was perfect and we enjoyed our meal as we chatted with others in the restaurant! If we ever make it back to Fort Paine we will be back again! Thanks to Heath and his son Colt it made our day a pleasant experience.
It's an interesting little antique shop, with a little kitchen in the back. They were very nice folks. The onion rings were good, and ! ENORMOUS !, but the Bonanza Burgers were not up to what we were expecting from the indications from other reviews - they were dry, a little over-done, and the flavor was not that great. Maybe it was just a bad day for the cook, but I feel like they need to put some effort into restoring this family recipe.
Burger pretty darn good, onion rings were awesome! Tea and Dr pepper were good also. That is pretty important to us at a restaurant. But talking to the owner was very cool. He gave me a little history lesson on the building and the town of Ft. Payne. I thank him for that!
Great little shopping spot! Extremely nice shop owners. They go out of their way to make you feel at home.
We had the Ribeye and it was excellent. Our waitress was very polite and supplied us with everything we needed. Really unique atmosphere and they played some old Randy Owens music. For my first time I really had an awesome experience..
Great little place to eat. Family owned and run with very consistent quality. They do Ribeye steaks on Fridays and they are the best steak in the Fort Payne area. They also make the old, original Jacks burger that will many will recall as a great burger from way back. And give the baby bakers a try. They are a small whole potato that goes great with steak or the catfish dinner.
It was a great down to earth friendly place to eat. Seating was spaced out. Food was good as described and staff had the friendly southern hospitality that we all know and love. Would recommend this place to friends.
Great family owned business! Open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Excellent hand cut steaks and other entrees. Tasty burgers. Try the Bananza Burger if you are hungry. Several great sides. The freshly battered onion rings are fantastic. Service is alway friendly and attentive. We eat here 2 or 3 times a month. Go here!
