While having a day visit to the beach, we decided to add a dinner of crabs afterward. Not knowing any of the suggested places for crabs, we settled on the Surfing Crab. Our decision was not a disappointment. This place was awesome! Since we didn't plan ahead to go there, our wait for the crabs was about 20-30 minutes. No big deal, we had some drinks and chatted our time away, and when they brought out the bakers dozen of medium crabs, oh my goodness, they were incredible! We enjoyed the company we had at our table, the service was accommodating and the crabs, wow! This is a beach place, it's not a fancy restaurant or some franchise, so don't snub your nose about the appearance. Go in and enjoy the crabs.
I went there as a single diner at 6:30 PM thinking the wait would be enormous due to how many vehicles were in the parking lot and I was very wrong! Fast seating regardless of how packed it was and the food was fantastic. Best place in town and its no debate about it. Prices match the quality of the food! Parking: Might look super busy but after 5 PM you can park in front of the business down in the parking lot and have additional parking in a fenced-in area down to the left!
The best crabs I've ever had. It's just the kind of place you want to go, nice people, paper on the table, good music, pitcher of beer and the sound of people laughing and cracking. Loved it will be back next tripFood: 5/5
Saturday 11/05/22 review. After a couple of hours of fishing at the pier. My grandmother and I stopped here for dinner. Saturday nights at a restaurant can be busy… so I called to see how long the wait was. Luckily, there was no wait as the dinner rush already passed. Time 7:30pm My grandmother and I were seated right away. Let me praise on our server Rachel. She was the ideal server with pure customer service. Very attentive to my grandmothers needs along with the other tables in her section. Sit with her and you won’t be disappointed. The food definitely gave me a food coma in a good way, the crabs were meaty, my fish n chips came out hot and my French fries were crisp. Very high recommendation if anyone is in Delaware. Thank you!!
Not a sterile crab house. This is a real crab house with AC. Get crabs, all the sides. Crabs are cooked perfectly. The staff friendly and attentive. What else would you want? Please don't come otherwise it will get too busy.
Cozy and casual atmosphere with delicious food! The food was out of this world. We were a party of four. Three of us got the all you can eat crab. It was well worth the time and money. Everything was delicious, hot, and well prepared. The hush puppies were some of the best we have ever had. The Cole slaw was a deliciously creamy pallet cleaner. The fries were hot, crispy, and delicious. The crabs were perfectly seasoned with a delicious rub and accompanied by butter. If we were locals, this would be our go to spot.
My friends and I recently enjoyed 2 1/2 dozen extra large crabs. They were cooked perfectly. KC was our server and made sure all of of our needs were met. At the end of our meal CW came over to bus our table and he was very entertaining. You need to clone CW! Thanks for a wonderful evening!Food: 5/5
My wife and I stopped on the way home from Lewes beach. Hot inside the restaurant, but it was 97* today. Waited for table 20 min, and when seated waited another 20 for server . . . But - there were like 40 motorcycle guys and their family there eating crabs. Once we ordered, food came quickly. Very good steamed clams and crab cake. Salad was excellent . . . And the whole staff very friendly. Price was reasonable. I wanted to only give four stars due to the wait but I understand and see how busy they were. Good job guys
Went for the all you can eat crabs. Usually I can eat about 2 dozen and thought the price a bit high but living away from the coast it's a special treat to eat them so I stepped up and paid it. I have to say it was more than worth it. They were some of the biggest Blue crabs I ever ate and as I have been eating them for over 50 yrs up and down the eastern seaboard that's saying something. I managed 7 before I was stuffed. I didn't eat any of fluff that goes with all you can eat either like fries and slaw etc. If you want a meaty, heavy, tasty crab, well worth your time and money this is the place! The service was also delightful.
Service, food great. Noise level very high. Communal tables in front , 4 tops in back. Small bar. $$$ for sheet pans of crabs by the dozen. Lots of locals. Features: None of the above
