Description

A Rehoboth Beach tradition, the Summer House is known for its fresh, well-prepared food presented in an upscale yet relaxed atmosphere with prompt and friendly service. Jumbo lump crabcakes, tender barbecued ribs and chicken, just-ground burgers, veal and wild mushroom meatloaf, and monster steaks are just a few of the restaurant's specialties. If you can find them in the bowl, the fried clams are incredibly tender and tasty but there is more bread crumbs than clams but only $6. Oysters were fresh but small also only $6. Service at the bar was friendly and fast. Would go back and try other dinner items. This was a nice Happy Hour stop.Food: 3/5
Good times, we got seating at the bar. It was entertaining and friendly.. Had a couple of the classics and they did not disappoint. Flavorful and seasoned just right. The menus are fun to use and the new S&P grinders are a nice touch. Glad Summer House is back.!
Wonderful dining experience! The food was excellent, as well as the staff...very friendly We started with calamari, then ribs & pasta...all of the food had the palate jumping for joy! Definitely going back again and again! Please try the apple slaw, DELISH!
Easily one of the more impressive restaurants on the main Rehoboth strip. The waiter was very attentive, great friendly attitude, quick to serve and help in any way. The food did not take long at all to come out. The appetizers were absolutely wonderful and our large party of 7 left feeling full, satisfied, and impressed at the overall service we received. The lighting and mood were perfect. Has a large bar with plenty of seating, multiple tvs. Great place for bar crawling or in my case, birthday celebrations! The rockfish was amazing, as was the burger. Burger options are customizable upon request. *WIFEY APPROVED FRIES* Parking: Its on the main strip, no metered parking in the off season but parking may be a struggle
Positively Updated On January, 14, 2023, I visited Summer House following its change of ownership and renovation in 2022. Fun, lively bar scene notwithstanding a cold Saturday night. Generally a positive experience. The space has been updated and brightened, but the familiar footprint remains. The new owners wisely renovated using scalpels instead of wrecking balls. I received better service from Bartender "Jimmy" than I’d ever received at the original Summer House. Two issues somewhat compromised an otherwise positive experience. First, although the new Summer House offers numerous brands of beer, it provides only one variety Budweiser on tap. This Baby Boomer craves a broader selection of draft beers which nearby bars/restaurants provide. Second, the food portions mine and my neighbors at the bar did not seem generous. Perhaps that's one way the establishment’s trying to combat the inflation it’s undoubtedly facing. Michael J. The menu also includes vege burgers.
We went for the "young children early bird" and thank goodness! It got so busy after 4:45. I loved my wedge salad and chicken tacos and my kids loved the French fries. My husband enjoyed his bowl and our server was super friendly and attentive. Great local spot!!
Do you want my honest opinion? It was my first time visiting rehoboth and I didn’t know what to expect. This restaurant has the best cocktails, best service and not to mention best food. I am so pleased with this establishment and I will definitely be back here again. Give Maddie a raise! Such a doll!
This was our first visit since the renovation. They are open for late night eats on the weekend even in the off season. Nice chill spot to relax and unwind. Current Late night menu pictured. Had to get a Mooneys iced tea. And Still brings back memories from 20 years ago… The wings we chose had a really good flavor. Honey truffle old bay The potato skins weren’t as tasty but edible. Wouldn’t be my first choice again. The bartender was very nice and prompt. Will be back again I’m sure.
Looking great after the remodel! Service, food, and drinks were all top notch. This place is a Rehoboth classic.
We came for the Roast Beef Dinner Special and were SO pleased~ Lovely piece of meat, fresh green beans and twice baked potato… Amazing desserts too- we are relatively new to the area and will become regulars I can tell ~ Vegetarian options: Pretty nice selection Kid-friendliness: Limited but really nice Wheelchair accessibility: Easy to get into the restaurant and wide aisle Dietary restrictions: Seem very accommodating so would expect good
