When my family and I began following the Paleo Diet guidelines and lifestyle, our diet wasn't the only thing to change. Cooking everything from whole foods tasted great, but resulted in a lot more time spent in the kitchen. I am a single parent, and with three busy kids there are times when I could really use some help getting dinner on the table!
I quickly found that many of the convenience items I had used in the past to get dinner on the table in less time - even gluten free and allergen friendly products - were no longer available on a gluten free and grain free diet. After the diagnosis of an Autoimmune Disorder, we began following the Autoimmune Protocol side of the Paleo diet, which further eliminated nuts, nightshades and products with almond flour. I found it very frustrating that I could not find products that made cooking a little easier, without compromising our health and diet restrictions.
As a result, I started The Sweet & Spicy Life. My goal is to bring help to your kitchen by creating Paleo and allergen friendly products made of pure, simple and clean ingredients that are shelf stable. I mix every product personally by hand in a commercial kitchen, so I know what goes into each product and I use many of them myself! I do not use preservatives, and there are no mystery ingredients, no soy or other fillers. Only clean and organic ingredients are used to create a dish that makes dinner easier for you. You will find that many of my products fit a variety of allergens and diet restrictions, including Autoimmune Protocol (AIP), Whole 30 and 21 Day Sugar Detox.
We all lead busy lives, and time is not always there like we want it to be, but our health and nutrition do not need to be compromised. My hope for you is that my products from The Sweet & Spicy Life will help you stay healthy by not only eating nourishing food, but having the time to enjoy it with family and friends.
