I sent my son and daughter and niece and nephew to this camp after the loss of my mother and sister Labor Day weekend 2006. I cannot express the thanks to this wonderful group of people that helped provide some coping tools to my young children. I have referred other families that have experienced loss, for their children. I hope they were as smart as I was making the decision to send my kids here - I will never ever forget how happy they were when I came to pick them up, the stories they told of fun events, the awesome couselors and doggie they spent their time with....not to mention the wonderful memories they continue to share now as healthy, active teenagers/college age young girls. Keep doing what you're doing Camp Hope! We LOVE YOU!!!
It's an amazing foundation supporting families and children with special needs. If you or someone you know has a child with special needs, you need to contact this foundation to see if they are able to help your family. They send children to camp at no charge and help with other cost such as transportation, etc. Getting to and from appointments etc. Give them a call
A Day in the Park is an annual event that should not be missed. They raise money at this event that supports the Taylor Family Foundation camp for children with either terminal illnesses or severel handicaps that allows then to have s camping experience that they will never forget. Check them out and offer your support.
The first time I went, I was really scared. I mean, when youre still a child, being "forced" to go to this cabin in the middle of nowhere is really scary. But, that was when they did a Superhero Theme. And there was this piece of paper that had the schedule of the 2-3 day camp. I looked at it, and my eyes focused on the "Big Hero 6" movie. That helped my anxiety alot. The next day, the people working were REALLY fun to be around, and the next thing I knew, I was waiting for my mother to pick me up, and found myself asking "When will I come back here?"
in 2014, i was diagnosed with celiac at age 11. my mom signed me up for camp the same year. i thought it would be lame. little did i know, i would meet my future best friends, eat killer food, and have the most fun i'd ever had. i've come back every year since. thank you ttff for all you do!
