Mission

The Texas Zoo connects people with wildlife from Texas and the rest of the world; inspires caring for nature; and advances conservation through education, recreation, science and action.

"The Texas Zoo is a 501c3 nonprofit zoo, striving to connect people with wildlife from Texas and beyond and be the leading resource for environmental education in Victoria and the surrounding Coastal Bend region. Through authentic learning experiences for broad audiences, The Texas Zoo fosters stewardship and conservation of the natural world. The Texas Zoo is home to over 75 species of animals, with some native to Texas while others can only be found in remote, exotic locations around the world. A large portion of The Texas Zoo’s collection is comprised of rescue animals that could not be returned to the wild, came from owners that could no longer provide the required care, or even from a future that lead them to the meat market."

Small compared to other zoos but it is absolutely obvious that this is one of the best maintained facilities in the state. Plenty of shade, no waits and just an all around good time. If you are ever driving from Houston to Corpus I 100% recommend stopping in Victoria and visiting the zoo.
This zoo is quite small, but it’s still a wonderful place to visit! It’s nothing grand like the Houston zoo, where you’ll have to plan the entire day to see all the animals. You can probably be done in an hour and have seen everything. But the people are so nice and accommodating. The staff is willing to answer any questions you have about the animals and they seem like they’re very passionate. The animals itself always seem to have a clean exhibit and the wandering peacocks sure are fun! The price is fair and I’d definitely recommend getting a membership for you plan on going more than once as it’ll basically pay for itself after 3 visits.
We always have so much fun here! It's a small zoo but the experience is so great! There is animal food pellet dispensers thru the zoo to be able to feed the ducks and peacocks. Do wish they were part of AZA so we could use our membership discounts. They used to be but lost accreditation because the zoo is in a flood plane. They should be grandfathered in the membership program but we're dropped. The zoo is working towards regaining accreditation with AZA and possibly ZAA, which caters to smaller zoos.
Although small in comparison to some other zoos, The Victoria Zoological Park was a wonderful way to pass some time in Victoria TX.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$6–10

Not too big, not too fancy, caretakers loved sharing their knowledge about the animals. It was a beautiful day to spend a 4year olds birthday!Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$11–15
Small zoo focused on conservation and protection of animals. I enjoyed the educational content scattered throughout the habitats. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Bonus is the park that the Zoo is housed in it has tennis courts, playgrounds, a golf course and walking trails with much more.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot surePrice for adult entry$6–10
Really cool zoo, but a little bit on the small side. We took our one year old daughter and she had a blast at the peacock walking around, she really liked the otters, and birds. The bear viewing area is really neat to watch the bears play and hang out.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot surePrice for adult entry$11–15
Nice little zoo to take a stroll... This zoo is in center of the park which has acres and acres of grass and trees. The zoo itself is fairly small but very nice for a stroll with several large trees to provide shade on the walk ways. Pretty quite too enjoy the animal. The price is a bit for what you're seeing since you can walk the entire zoo in 30mins or less. Other than that a nice place to visit.
My husband and I had a good time when we came 4 years ago! Small zoo but has some interesting animals. Everyone been here loved it. I wish there is a zoo like this where I live now so I can bring my child over.Visited onWeekendWait time30–60 minReservation recommendedNo
