Amazingly nostalgic. I found the merchandise to be expensive; Large markup for homemade soaps and sundries. It was great to see they offered penny candy. Fabulous place to lose yourself in memories! With the stop!
This place is like a department store with a country feeling. It is just a few miles from the highway exit 6 and a great place to visit. There was clothing, food, soaps, Christmas decorations, and much more. Really fascinating to walk around. Definitely worth a visit.
My mom wanted to go here while she was visiting from NC...said she ordered from here all the time online and wanted to see it for herself. She was NOT disappointed. It was like stepping back in time when you walked into the store. Old products you can't really find anymore exist on the shelves beside newer items. From Bazooka bubble gum to crockery to Christmas ornaments to sweaters to tools and more they seemed to have EVERYTHING fitting an old country store! And of COURSE if you're looking for maple products it has them by the metric ton...syrup, candies, soaps you name it...if it can be made to be maple-ish they have it. They even have their own candy. It's a great time to come to this store and just walk around it. It made me miss some of the older stores that were crumbling when I was a kid in the deep south...just...with more maple stuff in it. Total recommend 5 out of 5
If you don't visit the Vermont Country Store, did you even visit? Chocked full of Vermont-made items, crafts, products, bakery, cheese, and syrup, this is an all-in-one stop for what you need to get while in Vermont! Some interesting things include Crawford tea biscuits, PENNY CANDY, fresh items made there, clothing and souvenirs, and soaps. They had toys, games, puzzles, and information. Anything and everything Vermont. And the second floor held clearance clothing and assorted items. Quite the adventure. And the people were cordial and talkative. So stop in to one of their locations I believe they have a few, but we enjoyed this one.
I felt like I stepped back in time. The decor is period 1800's stepping into the way-back machine. There are items in this country store that I haven't seen since I was a kid. And there was plenty of unique items that have common sense uses. We made the 2+ hour trip to check out the buzz about the place. We saw this spot on Ma Chronicle and had to come! Visual: I rode up on my horse and tied it to the rail outside with the other horses watering in the troth while their owners were inside. Could hear my spurs clanging as I walked through the pothecary getting my daily needs to put on account til the end of the month. True time capsule!
Fun store filled with everything nostalgia! From clothing, kitchen wares, and candy to soap and toys. They also have a walk up grill take out food- including ice cream.
The initial reaction to the Vermont Country Store was slightly overwhelming as it was very busy and we had to wait in order to park for a few minutes. However, the ambience was very good. We picked up a couple of bakery items and they were tasty and fresh. The covered bridge is a nice attraction and fun for the kids. Would definitely stop by again.
It would be 5 stars but personally I felt constrained and herded. Signs signs every where signs blocking up the scenery breaking my mind, do this don't do that... you get the picture. That gripe expressed, as ever a nostalgic fun trip down memory lane. Alot of neat things, needful things, tasty things and funny things. Follow the photos of what caught my eye and bright back memories!
Good tourist stop. Very wide range of products available. Found a very clever salt &pepper shaker pictured. Purchased delicious Jamaican rum truffles, maple cookies, and marzipan. Fun Christmas shop, and some sale items located upstairs. Only disappointment I was hoping for some more bargains in store as opposed to their catalog.
Amazing location with everything you could possibly need and more! The store itself is a work of art, and they have so many Vermont novelty items, kitchen ware, candy, cheeses, jams and so much more! They also have an incredible coffee selection with some of the best coffee we’ve had! We can’t wait to come back!
